3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 DubC5000 (276) - San Francisco, California, USA - SEP 10, 2007
A most delicious aroma of sweet dark malts, dry mango, and fresh sugarcane. (I dunno, this is what it reminded me of). Flavor equally delicioius, with the same fruity and malty qualities of the aroma. Sweet, but not sickly, sticky, or artificial in any way. Also light but not watery on the palate, which I believe is ideal. A definite keeper.

Pours like it says "ruby-brown" in color w/ a shameful spritzy froth that dies quickly and leaves nothing to remember. Aromas of sweet jolly rancher cherry malts. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. A malty sweetness ensues spreading the word of cherry jolly rancher goodness. I can smell it and taste it aswell. I don’t remember this flavor profile from way back in the day. Hadn’t had it since the 90’s. It’s rather bland actually. This is the strangest Brown Ale I’ve ever had. Fruity tootie. Makes me want to jump up and clang my heels together and scream out "fruty tootie, fruity tootie". The finish is mildly bittered w/ a slight citric acid compound.

Pours a beautiful reddish-brown with a limited head and lacing. Looks like a clear syrup. Sweet aroma and sweet malts. It almost feels like melted caramel in my mouth. This one is extremely smooth and extremely tasty. I’m sure I’ve had this one over the years but I don’t remember it being so smooth.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a weak head. The taste is a soft malt with a good floural hops. Quite good.

taste is of sour malt, grain, and a touch of citrus, ends a little tart and a little sweet.

this brew is well distributed and so one can usually get this and avoid having to buy BS beer when stuck in the middle of nowhere... it is a bit watery and inocuous for a brown tho

Poured a light orange/brown color with a huge fluffy head. The nose was of roasted grain and tiny hop bitterness. The taste had a malty, nutty character with light hops. Balance slightly off. Went down smooth enough.
