Pours brown with reddish hues, fully receding off-white head. Aroma is fruity, slightly nutty. Honestly smells like liquid malt. Taste is sweet cereal grains, caramel, some bittering hops in the finish. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Not bad, but lacking direction.

Tasty copper color ale with a good lacy head, floral aroma hoppy dominated flavor, balanced by a musty aroma. Overall a good drinking beer.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Pigfoot (2266) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 14, 2005
Clear, magohany (or, "ruby-brown") in color, brieg cocoa-tan head, gone before you know it.
Sweetness in the nose, recalling nuts, maple, brown sugar, but just barely.
Put past the lips, it just leaps on board the palate, and slips through the mouth with no trouble at all, but neither does it make an impression. Hops play their part lightly, malt makes little of it’s supporting role. Meedium to light in body, with a slightly weet, if forgettable finish. Called "exceptionally smooth" on the 6-pack box, but that means little with such a paucity of character.
For a non-threatening, easily guzzled brew, this isn’t bad. I’m not in the mood to knock it, but can’t recommend it, really. When I last had it, I was deeply disappointed, this time...not so much, though I’m not in the slightest satisfied.
Far better browns out there, ...and "Wicked"? Don’t make me laugh...

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ahole (38) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 8, 2005
Slightly nutty, malty aroma. Smooth, but watery mouthfeel. Just about right on the carbonation. Sweet caramel note. Fairly bitter hop aftertaste. Not nearly as good as a New Castle Brown Ale due to the watered-down aspect.

Round caramel malts and light herbal hops in the aroma. Clear brown body with soft tan head that lasts well. Sweet and nutty flavour with low bitterness and some fruity notes. Medium-light body. Sampled in Dallas, 2001. Bottle. Entered from notes.

bottle. Pours a dirty-ruby color with an insufficient head. This has a failry sharp hop tatse, though it still maintains a somewhat successful balance with some sweeter notes. Not too bad.
