Always a crowd pleaser, our version of the ever popular Pale Ale leans more towards an English Bitter than the everyday American Pale Ale. Earthy on the nose with a light floral background, this brew has a lingering caramel malt flavor and a splash of fresh citrus. The chosen yeast strain provides a distinctly European feel, but our hop profile remains uniquely American in delivering the expected flavor and aroma, as well as a characteristic bitter edge. It is hop-forward with a balance towards late hop additions and bitterness, yet this medium-bodied brew maintains an ample malt foundation on the way to a smooth, refreshing finish.

A pretty easy drinking beer from Peticolas. Pours a yellow/gold with white head. Floral, citrus, and earthy on the nose, followed onto the palate. Finishes with a nice compliment of caramel malt that is not overpowering.

Sampled at the 2014 Untapped festival in Fort Worth. Pours near clear amber orange with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a syrupy grapefruit light citrus and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has more of a resinous pine with a bit of grapefruit and a sweet grain backbone.

Clear copper under a thin foamy light beige head. The aroma is a bit faint but has a wee bit of earthy biscuity toffee and a kiss of noble grassy hops. Taste is light and crisp and grassy, with light bitterness throughout and a semi-dry bitter finish. Light grassy and earthy toffee throughout the taste, like the nose.

On tap somewhere in Dallas. I think it was billed as just "Royal", so I am assuming this is it. Had a very nice malt backbone with just enough hops. Nice beer for the style, based on my limited experience with it. Not as hardcore hoppy as an APA, nice texture and nice finish.
