COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A deep reddish, malty, and complex Belgian style ale. Belgian candied syrup made from beets adds flavors of ripe red fruit to the caramel undertones created by the malt.

Julie likes. A nice belgium very cool as crisp she gives a 3. There isn't a lot on the back end for malt ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Way too sweet, and very metallic. Pours out dark amber with small beige head. Aroma is iron and rust. Taste is more of the metal with some rock candy sweetness . Finish is blunt and more metal. Served ice cold from a can which may be part of the problem.

Muddled, burnt sienna body with a fleeting, light khaki foam color on top. Aroma full of gummy esters, sticky toffee candy, red licorice, taffy, & mild back-end phenols. Taste has plenty of toffee & Belgian Candi sugar with a notable dark fruit & sweet date essence. Somewhat sweet, but not too overdone given the style. Possibly more than a dubbel, but not quite at quad levels, either. Phenolic yeast & lightly spicy esters in the finish. Medium/light body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice malt heavy beauty. Drank out of a can to celebrate finding the oldest Geocache in Michigan. Love that Belgian candy sugar.

Can: Thanks, Jeff. Muddled, burnt sienna body with a fleeting, khaki foam on top. Aroma full of gummy esters, sticky toffee candy, red licorice, taffy, & mild back-end phenols. Taste has plenty of toffee & Belgian Candi sugar with a notable dark fruit & sweet date essence. Sugary, relatively sweet, but not too overdone given the style. Possibly more than a dubbel, but not quite at quad levels, either. Phenolic yeast & lightly spicy esters in the finish. Medium body, a touch sticky. Overall, not a bad little canned dubbel.

Can. Deep reddish-brown with a beige head. Cherries and candi sugar in the aroma. Bready and caramely with vanilla and a bit of alcohol burn.

On tap at Hopcat. Almost absolutely no aroma. Dark ruby in color with a thin head. Taste is malty mixed with fruit. Palate is medium bodied. Overall Iím glad I tried it but might not again. Itís not as bad as the Cleveland Browns.

On tap at the brewpub. Reddish amber pour with a white head. Sweet malt and dark fruit in the aroma and flavor. A quite nice Abbey Dubbel.

Tap sample. Poured clear reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted leaving good lacing. Good dark fruit and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Good fruit sweet flavor with a sweet finish that had a moderate duration. Soft sweet brew.
