4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
74 ibus is a pretty low estimate of this behemoth. The most bitter ipa I have yet to taste. Small head with a little staying power and minimal lacing. Nose is hoppy, sweet with subdued malty pine smell. Quite good in my opinion. Taste is bitter bitter ipa goodness. Like bells hopslam times 3. Fruity under notes and almost no malt flavor to speak of. This is a great American ipa and should be sold all over... Because I would buy it.

Open up your mind.....and warn your liver....this is NOT Blatz. My mind’s eye imagines Blatz as the world’s finest pleasure elixir. Don’t question it. Don’t bother. I’ve been to Milwaukee, so I ought to know. Hie yourself down to the local liquor store & GET IT NOW (Blatz, not this stuff). Your sphincter will thank me in the morning. Or not.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a deep copper red with a thicker khaki head that settles to a thick ring and leaves some touches of lacing. Nose involves caramel and toffee, subdued pine and fruit, with some savory spice. Pretty sweet and quite bitter. Medium bodied, active, oily, with a tingly hoppy finish. A decent amber, not a great IPA.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap while in Mackinac Island. It pours a dark red amber color with a fluffy foamed white head. Not much aroma. A slight floral scent. Taste is mostly a heavy caramel based hop flavor. Creamy feel and a dry finish. Leaves a hop tingle on the tongue. A heavy wall of lacing is left in the glass. Not a whole ton of flavor. Still has a good drinkable factor with its fresh overall feel. Not my particular favorite style of IPA with the heavy caramel notes but still not bad.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted from a pint can. It poured a murky copper with an off-white head that left minimal lacing. Unpleasantly bitter taste and finish.

Had it out of a can. Smells of dank va jay jay after a rough night, whew. It looks like a brown ale with a white head. And the taste, after all of that was surprisingly not that bad, a very tasty hop malty mixing the sweet and the savory. Yo mamma!

Tap at source, Petoskey/MI 09/2013. Pours an appealing deep amber with porous head. Lightly hoppy and caramalt-sweet fragtant aroma. Cedar and pine notes on a pineapple base flush down quicky on a thin palate, quick finish.
