3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Guerde (956) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - FEB 3, 2012
(bottle) Pours a very clear gold color with a white head that immediately dissipates to nothing. Aroma is quite nice for a sour, with plenty of vinegar, oak, mustard, fresh pineapple, mushroom, slight cheese funk, and lemon zest. Flavor is very punchy and acidic, with apple cider vinegar, mustard, and lemon juice. There’s a very slight hint of horseradish as well as a minerally component. This burst of acidity is then quickly followed up by some citrus zest and sugared grapefruit with a lingering finish of oak. On the far finish a light sweetness lingers on the tongue. Mouthfeel is medium to light, and the carbonation is quite active and spritzy. Overall this is a quality sour that I will definitely drink again.

A golden beer with a quite weak and white head. Aroma is mainly sour, fruits, lemon, white wine and some metallic notes. Taste is strongly sour, white wine vinegar, fruits and rhubarbs. Medium bodied, fresh and slightly biting due to sourness. Strongly sour beer, fresh and nice.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 StormCoat (87) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 24, 2012
Picked up an 11.2 oz bottle from Mesa Liquors in San Diego, CA; tasted it from a snifter. Pours a golden color with just a touch of haze, and a fizzy white head. Aromas are very sharp and bright, tingling the nose with a big fruity wine-vinegar scent that has undercurrents of alcohol and wood. Flavor starts out with a lot of juicy, lemony fruit flavors, then melts into a woody, slightly funky flavor with a mellow bitterness, and bit of a lactic finish. Body is somewhat light and effervescent. I’m fairly new to sours, and am still getting used to them, but this beer is really pretty delicious and refreshing.

Pours a pale golden color. Little to no head. Aromas of vinegar, sour apple and sugar. Sour up front smooths out with a slight tart granny smith/vinegar, slight pale ale flavor. Mouthfeel is pretty normal. Nothing lingers for too long. Overall pretty delicious.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 callmemickey (702) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2012
A: Pale, clear golden colored body. Large fizzy white head. Streaky suds left behind.
S: Huge acetic component. Vinegar, apples, a bit of lemon, and white grapes. Not much in the way of funk, must, or oak.
T: Lemon and vinegar provide the initial burst of flavor. This is followed by a green apple flavor that is reminiscent of some of the tarter batches of Fantome Saison. I would have liked a bit more "funk" and oak presence here.
M: Moderate sourness. Ultimately, however, the finish is a little thin as the sourness overpowers the beer. It’s not that the beer is overwhelmingly sour, it’s just more sour than the flavor and body of this beer can properly support.
O: A pleasant, enjoyable sour beer that is available at an accessible price.
