UPDATED: FEB 29, 2008 Pours a light pale gold, moslty clear and a vigorous fluffy white head- small and large bubbles mixed and great lace. Aroma is tart, slightly sour, woody, oak, herbal, earthy, and light brett funk. Nice light bready malts, herbal and spicy hops, oak, light vanilla, fruity, and a light bitter, yet tart and sour finish. The tartness was pretty mellow overall, but blended well with the woodiness. Pretty unique even in the sour ale world.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry.</i > Pours a clear pale gold with a spare diminishing white head. Wonderful funky aroma of sour grapes, apples, faint spices, yeast and lemons. Flavour is sour and citrusy with some yeast, oak and a slightly metallic tinge to it. Medium bodied. A little simple, it could be more complex but I still really liked it.

Bottle from Bello Vino in Ann Arbor. Pale yellow-orange with a small white head. Wonderful funky & sour aroma, with notes of lemon, vinegar, yeast and barnyard. Crisp, refreshing body. Flavour is quite tart and acidic, lots of lemon and yeast, and a dry, dusty finish. Really unique stuff, I’m glad to have tried it.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, Harry’s bottle. Very funky fresh, sour, rotten eggs, yeast aroma - lovely. Dark yellow, small white head. Taste: disappointing. Very sour, very tinny, no balance. Lemony finish. One dimensional taste, and boring. No complexity.

Bottle at GBBF, August 2006. Day 1, bee #23. Straw colour. Farmyard aroma. Quite sour and very lemony. Rather lambic-like in overall demeanour. However, I detected some odd chemical petrol/acetone and odd candy/pear drop nuances that I did not find too appealing in the flavour. I also found rather compromised by an over-fizzy mouthfeel. Interesting but not as good as I expected. I suspect this particular bottle (or batch?) was not quite up to the mark.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2006 Bottle (250ml). Shared with blankboy and tupalev, my bottle. Clear pale orange, not much head. Nice funky, sour, yeasty sharp aroma, citrus zest alcohol. Very sour and lactic taste, a little fruitiness that wants to be sweet but the yeast and citrus tartness overwhelm - not bad, could use more depth of character (maybe the big bottle would be better?). Average body, nicely carbonated, astringent and lemony-acidic ... finishes a little quickly, but nice and juicy; quaffable.

Style 66/70 Need to find a faro! 11.2 oz bottle. Aoroma is tart with notes of oak, fruits, and a little caramel; color is gold with a small yellow-tinged head, that laces nicely as it recedes; flavor is of tart lemons and malt, with an apple ester showing in the background, and a tart finish.

Nice golden-blond color with a stabile creamy white head. Aroma is crisp and refresching complex. It has hints of wood, and loads of sour stone fruits. also a faint earthy touch, some wet wood, grass, herbs and hops. One thing is sure, it smels cleaner then an authentic gueuze. The taste is very well ballanced, it is again very crisp, malty and lemoney. The beer has a medium mouthfeel and an elegant smoothness. It has a very refresching caracter and a very nice and quit complex afthertaste.
