Bottle pours orange gold with a fluffy white head leaving a little lacing. Nose is full of lemon, musty oak, and stale bread. Flavor shows the same, with additional notes of grapefruit, granny smith apple, and white pepper. Body is moderate with a dry, sour finish.

Bottle. Bronze beer with a lightly smoky aroma, and sour spiced flavour. Overall a very average and disappointing beer.

Bottle. Pale, cloudy liquid. Smell is acidic with some malt, although a bit boring. Taste is of lactic acid and some vomit-like notes. Quite nice acidity, but no success in total.

Pours a light orange gold with a fluffy white head that leaves some scattered lace. Aroma is tart but perfumey once you’re acclimated to the sour aspect. Lemons and bruised apples come through in the aroma as well as the flavor. The oak is subtle, as is the alcohol, but they’re apparent if you look hard enough. Fleeting licorice accents, also some pepperiness. Interesting and fairly complex, but a little thin in body.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a lingering white head, which leaves nice notches on the glass. Smells like yeast and lemons. Feels sort of like cider on the palate--starts very sour, ends on a more bitter note. Has the aftertaste of olives and lemon zest with a slight alcohol bite. Didn’t get any of the vanilla flavor I was expecting due to the oak casks. This is the first sour ale I’ve tried so I’m not sure what to compare it to, but I’d say this was a pretty enjoyable bottle.

I tried this beer on September 2, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a hazy golden brown with a thin white head that lasted. The aroma is musty bread and wood chips. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with light carbonation. The taste was SOUR! Moreso than the Petrus Oud Bruin in my opinion. Very yeasty in the taste.

Gorgeous pour of golden orange brown with a thick white head and plenty of lacing. Aroma is primarily vinegar and tart apples while the taste is much the same, with a bit of a citrus finish.

Sampled at NotF. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small whtie head. Nose is lightly hoppy with a light barnyardish note to it. Palate is crisp. Flavor is light hop notes with a lemony zest.
