11.2oz bottle. Pours a deep dark slightly hazy golden color with a small off white head that forms a ring around the edge of my glass. This one has a lemony tart barnyard funky nose. Hint of oak and lactic acid. Taste is a bit sharp at first with vinegar notes that mellows into tart apple notes and oak. Nice sour.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 mike1977ok (1037) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 11, 2009
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2011 There’s a certain sweaty, mustiness in the aroma. Some very raw, bready yeasts dominate. Flavour has a complex sourness. First some apple, cider like sharpness at first then becomes much more sour as the flavour develops. Reminds me a little of oak aged scrumpy. As the chill is lost from the beer the final acidic kick seems to tone down a bit which makes it more palatable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jerc (5446) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 6, 2009
2009-03-02. Crisp golden yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of light alcohol, biscuity pale malts, light musty notes, touch of fruit. Flavour is on the sour side, mild fruit, notes of tart green apple, pale malt base. Average palate is smooth and light on the tongue. Interesting. Refreshing. Not sure if it started out this sour but it is not unpleasant. Bottle from Bier Tempel, Brugges, with some age on it.

Bottle: Almost clear, pale golden with a small, persistent off-white foamy layer; dry woody-vinous nose, lactic acid and green apples detectable; solid sour flavour - with a little sweetness, medium bodied; lingering sour finish with wood and green apples in the aftertaste. Fine, fine brew..........
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 MoritzF (7137) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAR 1, 2009
(33cl bottle, bought in Grobbendonk) Slightly hazy, pale golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Sour woody and oaky aroma with sweet notes of vanilla and a spicy, slightly mouldy touch of brett. Sour flavour, medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Acidic citrus- and apple-fruity taste with oak and vanilla. Dry and astringently tart and citrus-fruity finish with an oaky vinegar-like aftertaste. A very flavourful experience (01.III.09).
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 KyotoLefty (3480) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 21, 2009
Sour nose dominates, but with a rather strong underlying pale malt character. Citrus fruits, caramel, and a touch of sweetness. Dark golden color with a large white head that rather quickly goes to something near lace. Flavor also is tart citrusy fruits and some caramel, plus cherry and grape. Not as sour as expected, and the pale ale character underneath comes through just enough to make it interesting. Nice, clean body as well.
