Really nice sour. Aroma is funky and fruity. Lots of apples for me like sparkling cider. Super puckering but balanced. I didn't get much oak but I don't think I missed it. Would grab again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2014 Golden colour, with very little head, disappearing. Smell is lactic acid, vinous, vinegar, some citrus. Taste is sour, very sour, vinegar. Also wood notes. Not easy, but I enjoyed.

330 ml bottle. A nice golden colour with a small, quickly disappearing white head. Sour grapefruit aroma. Flavour is sour and acidic grapefruit with some dry woody notes. Oily texture, light body.

I didn’t expect it, but this was actually a very good beer. Nice sour taste of oak and fruits. Good one.

750 ml. bottle from the local liquor store. Pours the color of golden honey with a small white head that maintains and leaves lacing. Aroma of sour cherries, oak, slight vinegar, I detect some hay or herbal aromas as well. Tastes quite dry and tart with a slight woodiness, but has a refreshing flavor and a good balance of sweet, sour, and bitter. Very unique and an interesting combination of flavors. The 7.3% abv is well hidden. A very lively palate with a medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, and a sour and dry finish. A very nice sour ale, would repeat.

Location: Draft at Max’s on Broad, 5/3/14

Aroma: The nose is sour, with some wood, oak, and a good amount of earth
Appearance: It pours a pale golden color with a fluffy white head and decent lace
Flavor: The flavor is similar, sour flavor and wood, with some earth
Palate: The body is medium, with a slightly pucking mouthfeel, and a sharp finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid and tasty sour. It has a nice combination of flavors that work nicely together. Nice stuff.

On tap at Thirsty Monk, Asheville, NC. Yellowish-orange pour with a short white head. Aroma of lemon zest and cherry. Lightly sour taste with notes of apple cider vinegar and tart fruit. Clean finish. A very good sour.

Bottle @ Mile End, Brooklyn. Slghtly hazy gold with a rich, creamy head. Good retention, handsome beer. Bright wood and lemon zest nose. A touch of tangy citrus fruits. Moderately sour white grape and lemon flavor. Just a bit of herb, driftwood funk. Clean, dry finish. Light body, lively mouthfeel. Overall, really pleasant. Well executed stuff.

Bottle from Wilbur’s. Appearance: slight white head, golden yellow color, clear. Aroma: vinegar, oak, some lemon hoppiness and honey sweetness. Palate: light body, dry finish, average carbonation, crisp. Taste: crisp sweetness, bitter and tart finish it off. Overall, unique, but I feel that the balance is off a bit. Still a great beer and something I will be buying more of.
