4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Reviewed 3/6/13. 11.2 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip.
A: Pours a light golden amber color. The head is a one finger white shade. It’s more substantial looking than others in the style, but still fades quickly. Thin splotches of lacing are left on the glass.
S: There’s good tartness on the nose - better than I expected really, given how low the Petrus Oud Bruin was in sour qualities. The fruit esters here are pretty light; apple, pear, grapes, and maybe some vague citrus. Even touches of honey and pale malts are found.
T: Oh yeah. This one has some good mouth-puckering sourness. It’s definitely acetic/vinegary in nature; however, it’s not perfectly integrated within the other (meager) qualities the flavor profile provides. It is balanced well, however. Just like the aroma, there aren’t really any cherry fruit qualities, it’s pretty much apple/pears/grapes alongside the acetic sourness. It becomes less tart near the finish as some light maltiness and the faintest ’ping’ of grassy hops come through.
M: Pretty damn light in texture, which is just what I look for in the style. Oak tannins help to dry out some of the acidic zing on the finish and aftertaste, and never come across too harshly. It isn’t particularly easy to drink, but it IS easy to sip, and that’s what counts.
O: This one definitely delivers the sour, puckering bite to it - and at a decent price, to boot! I really wish it was fruitier, but that’s just nitpicking. I’d definitely consider making this one a go-to sour for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A cross between a lightly bretted sour, and a apa, it has a good straw like aroma , and a refreshing crispness to its flavour. Very easy drinking.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Kevés hab, az is gyorsan eltűnik. Gyönyörű borostyán színű. Illata finom fűszeres, enyhén fehérboros jegyekkel, de felbukkan egy kis körte és alma aroma is. Íze kifejezetten savanyú, citrusos, mellette a fő vonása a fehérboros jelleg.

What a nice sour beer.
Deeply gold, with nice, smooth head. Some wild notes in aroma, a little of vanilla and champagne-like aromas. Sour and slightly bitter in taste, medium-high carbonation, rather light body.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours light orange with a one finger white head with pretty good lacing. Aroma is of sour fruits, vinegar, wet hay, light barnyard, light bready malts, lacto, and Greek yogurt. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a pretty dry, sour, long, lingering finish. Overall, a tasty, pretty complex sour ale.

Poured from the bottle. Active fat foamy white head bubbled for quite a bit. Amber gold in the glass. Nose is funky, wet straw, yeasty ...it’s definitely alive. The palate is very complex, lemon, citrus peel, raw, wow! ...full ,round, pleasing...sour but super enjoyable

Sweet tart citrusy sour stone fruit. Pours cloudy pale yellow with a thick foamy bright white head. Lots of retention. Lots of foam on the glass. Very tart. Very dry. Cherry. Orange. Lemon. Reminiscent of a very dry champagne.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A clear, gold color and a large, white head of standard retention leaving some lacing. Sour, vinous aroma of fermentation and cider; brettanomyces, wood, and some tart fruits are featured too. Taste is obviously sour, fruity, once again cider-like, less vinous. A medium body, an oily texture, and an average carbonation. The finish is sour indeed, introduces some hay and a tad of barnyard but overall keeps it together. Overall the beer is good, mouthwateringly sour but pleasant.
