3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours light carmel brown. Musty on the nose. Scent similar to a white wine. Taste is typical of a belgium with nice tart notes. Finish is a little funky. A sour that seems to work ok for me.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2004 Aroma is remarkably yeasty, lots of fruit - apple and sour cherry. The ABV definitely works its way into the flavor and your nasal passages...whew, but it’s no rival for the sour cherry that is there for the entire ride. I am a fan of flemish red ales, but this seemed just below the cusp with too much attention given to the cherry rather than ways in which to incorporate it in the beer well.

330ml bottle. Clear golden with a frothy white head. Flavors are hay, lemon, apple, grapes, oak and vinegar with grainy and earthy notes. Generous acetic sourness. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, slick texture.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
9/19/07 From the bottle. Aroma is lightly sour pear-like malt forward balanced with fruity esters, followed by toffee, butter and no hops. Appearance is clear light gold with a good white head. Flavor is very sour, astringent, almost flawed. The esters totally mask the malt and there is no hop character. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a spritzy carb feel. Overall, this just seems like a flawed beer (4 of us split it, so I wasn’t the only one); need to have another one to be sure.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
11.2oz Bottle. The pour was a lightly cloudy golden color with an average (1-2 finger) white sudsy head that reduced slowly, down to a thin film with a large collar and possessed excellent sheets of sticky lacing.
The aroma was of a light grain malt and a musty Belgian yeast with a note of citrus (lemon), a slight fruity ester (apples and pears), a hint of cask and a mild vinous scent.
The taste was sweetly tart and a tad acetic with some bold fruity overtones from the get go, becoming rather yeasty and a bit sour with a winey cider taste and a light bitter citrus appeal at the end. The flavor lasted and average time after consumption with a slight fruity vinegary taste left behind.
Mouthfeel was light in body with a thin dry texture and a rather prickly carbonation.
Overall this is a fantastic Wild Ale with a ton of sweet-sour flavor along with the perfect influx of fruit, which did a good job of hiding the semi-high ABV... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Nice beer for an spring afternoon. Very refreshing. Clear pale golden ale very pleasent to look at. Mild brett aroma with apples. Cider like taste, tart and sour, not too strong. Has a nice smoothness to it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Interesting! The aroma and initial flavor is that of aged sherry, with just a hint of cherry. Nice head and lace. Color is that of a nice apple cider. A champagne type of dryness with just a little coppery after taste. This comes across as very dry.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a transparent golden yellow with minimal head. Aroma of sour fruit and wood. Pretty sour on the palate with hints of malt in the background. Interesting beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle code of: 41025
A - Pours a clear golden honey color with small fleeting white head.
S - Sharp vinegar, apples, grapes, hints of old wood, mild basement funk.
T - Green grape and apple skins, sour grain, very mild wood, salty lemons, vinous, finishes tart and dry.
M - Light to medium body, low carbonation.
Sharp on the nose. Not as complex as I’d hoped. Nice for a sour fix but not one to explore and stew over.
