COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aged? Many beers have a long maturation, but this one has only 24-36 months in oak barrels. Pale? This beer has an old gold to bronze color, rather than the burgundy more common in the breweries of West Flanders. This is the ‘mother beer,’ used in various quantities to blend with the other Petrus beers, and to give them their unique and very distinctive taste. This mother beer is rather sour with a bite like the best Brut Champagnes. A connoisseur’s delight! The only one of its kind on the U.S. market.

Bottled. Color is hazy gold, with thin head. Nose is citric, very sour. Flavour is a like a good Chinese dish: full of sweet and sour. Aroma islonglasting, well balanced. Nice!

The smell intrigued me. Very sweet and spicy, with a mix of fruits and a touch of honey and yeast thrown in. I knew this was going to be something different. I loved this beer at the first sip. It has a sour tartness, along with with a fair malt sweetness. The sweet and sour flavors causes a pleasantly bizarre blend that I honestly cannot explain fully.

Nice beer for an spring afternoon. Very refreshing. Clear pale golden ale very pleasent to look at. Mild brett aroma with apples. Cider like taste, tart and sour, not too strong. Has a nice smoothness to it.

330ml bottle. Clear golden with a frothy white head. Flavors are hay, lemon, apple, grapes, oak and vinegar with grainy and earthy notes. Generous acetic sourness. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, slick texture.

Bottle pours clear gold color with persistent medium white head. Aroma sour fruits. Taste sour fruit, funk. moderate tartness, lemons, slightly sweet. Moderately long sour finish. Palate carbonated. Alcohol disguised. Given to me as an intro into sours. Pretty drinkable but I haven’t developed a taste for sours at this point so for now won’t seek out again.

Pours a transparent golden yellow with minimal head. Aroma of sour fruit and wood. Pretty sour on the palate with hints of malt in the background. Interesting beer.

Very clean and mild, yet still fairly sour. Hints of wild yeast tastes in the aftertaste, but when drinking none of them are detectable. It seems like they handpicked the yeasts and bacteria on this one instead of just putting it in the attic. The right malt for this mellow sourness also as everything is in balance.
