3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
First bottle I hated. Second bottle was tolerable. Third was divine. This is a beer halfway between lambic and flemish sour. Way too much Brett to count as just sour, but more restrained than lambic. Perhaps the most complex beer I've had. pH 3.6

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bumbling about in the liquor store, cursing the fact that I’d forgotten my glasses while knowing that my long, sweaty bike ride would end up with a few new beer purchases, I (barely) saw this brew on a shelf. Knowing that I have never had it, I bought one. Did I know that it was a sour? Nope. Supposedly, I’ve given up on them, not especially liking the style. This ale has a fruity aroma and tastes like sour cherries. It’s not sweet, not bitter, well carbonated and has a solid ABV. Not my idea of something I’d like to spend an afternoon drinking, but more than acceptable after that bike ride. Go Belgians!

On tap. Beer festival in Antwerp. Lots of wood, wine, apple. Very sour almost vinegar like. Kind of champagne like mouth feel. Highly complexity of aromas. Really doesn’t feel like 7,3%.

330ml bottle from a holidaying friend. Pours clear pale gold, long lasting thick white head, nice lacing. Sour aromas, almost wine vinegar territory. Taste has a crisp apple thing going on, dry like champagne, sour too. Lovely.

Uiterlijk: goudkleurig, kleine schuimkraag
Aroma en smaak: neus is zurig, aroma is fruitig als zure appel, azijn
