COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aged? Many beers have a long maturation, but this one has only 24-36 months in oak barrels. Pale? This beer has an old gold to bronze color, rather than the burgundy more common in the breweries of West Flanders. This is the ‘mother beer,’ used in various quantities to blend with the other Petrus beers, and to give them their unique and very distinctive taste. This mother beer is rather sour with a bite like the best Brut Champagnes. A connoisseur’s delight! The only one of its kind on the U.S. market.

Pours a hazy orange with medium white head, decent lacing. Aroma of funk, citrus (mostly orange). Flavor matches and makes for a pretty decent sour.

Draft @ Rosamunde today waiting for E. Pour is gold, 50-60% transparency, minuscule head and lacing. Nose is funk-sour but also fresh piney hops, cool. Tastes like sour grapefruit, good mix of a sour and pale/IP ale.

Bottle, golden with a thin lasting head and a tart dusty aroma. Dry-sweet, citrus and herbal bitterness, lightly sour, and complex.

Zure matjes. Weet niet zo goed wat ik er moet. Heeft wel wat van Cider. Dorstlessend...

From a 12 oz bottle. Hazy golden body topped by a white head. Lots of oak in the flavor. The aroma is funky and not really appealing. High complexity.

On tap at Cannery Row BC. Pours a golden color with a bit of head. Mild sourness and nice oaky wild yeast flavors.

Seriously wondering if I got a bad one of the bunch. Given the average overall rating by other reviews, I have to believe I got a skunked bottle. Tasted terrible. Very sour and tasted like aluminum. I'll have to buy this from another store and give it another go. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a bottle. I know I should like this, but I just don’t like sours. And this one was like eating a sore patch kid. A tad cloudy golden. A bit filmy on the tongue.

Clear golden with a frothy white head. Flavors are hay, lemon, apple, grapes, oak and vinegar with grainy and earthy notes. Generous acetic sourness. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, slick texture.
