Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

AROMAT: Sok wiśniowy. Niezbyt intensywny.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2015 It is tricky to find the optimal temperature for this beer. Deep red colour beer with a decent head seems to be nothing more than a cherry liquor, too sweet and lacking complexity. There is, however, the fine spot when barrel and valilla notes subdue the cherry juice and the beer becomes really interesting. What’s more, the subdued juice is not fooling our nose anymore and the taste shifts from sweet to gently sour with vanilla, barrel and a hint, but only a hint of cherry. The snag is to find the proper temperature. When the beer gets too warm it shifts back to cherry liquor again. My final note for the cherry state is 3.0, but in the fine spot the beer fully deserves 3.9.

Barwa ciemnych wiśni, piana obfita drobno pęcherzykowa. W aromacie głownie wiśnie. W aromacie to samo, tylko dochodzi lekki posmak takiej, hm beczki, średnio kwaskowe. Średnie wysycenie, alkohol w miarę dobrze schowany. Pijalne, aczkolwiek mogło by być ciekawsze

Aroma: cherry, barrel notes, vanilla. Appearance: deep red color, creamy head. Taste: almost no bitterness, cherry and barrel notes, slightly acid, astringent, alcohol, pharmaceutical aftertaste. Palate: medium body and high carbonation, alcohol finish. Overall: Pretty poor, alcohol should be better covered.

Dark ruby and clear color, ruby head but quickly disappear. Nice ripe cherry aroma, similar to non alcoholic juice. Small note of barrel. Taste is dry, lighty sour with short tart finish. Sweet ripe cherry flavor. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty one sided beer, lack of complexity. More like radler, beer with juice than real sour beer.

Aromat: wiśnie, wiśnie, wiśnie, w tle delikatny drewniany akcent i tyle Wygląd: ot kompot wiśniowy Smak: jest słodko wiśniowo, w tle delikatny piwniczny aromat, odrobina beczki, końcówka o dziwo wytrawna. Jest dość pijalnie, ale absolutnie bez szału. Typowy przeciętniak. Pije się dobrze, zapomina po chwili.

Dark ruby beer, low tanned head, quickly disapears. Aroma of sweet cherry. Sweet cherry syrup. Taste: light sour. high sweetnes. Cherry. A hint of chocolate. Palate: for me it’s medium to high body, flat carbonation, hidden but warming alcohol. Overall: sweet cherry juice, kinda chemical cherry aroma. Dont like this at all. it’s not sour ale for sure. Altough if some1 likes sweet cherry juice or wine, go for it.

Beatiful clear ruby color, nice head. Aroma of cherries, bitter almond and vanila. Taste rather dry, sour and sweet. Taste fruity and a bit malty. Sweet finish. Could be less sweet, but still very good.

Nice mild tart aroma, Quite yummy at first then it gets a little alky medicine like. Something more than I anticipated fer a tart beer. Yes, as the session the beer becomes a little mpore tghan coff medicine . Yes good initial impressesa then it continues to treat me like a patient. Leaves me with qa cough medicine finish so I guess I’m getting over it.
