Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

Draft. A nice medium reddish brown, not dirty looking. Cherry pie. Oak. Rich cherry. Some alcohol. Great aroma. Delicious and super drinkable. Sweet but not sugary or cloying. plain on the palate.

Deep Copper reddish with a beige head. Aroma is sweet cherries. Flavor is peppermint red fruits with a slight sour note. Not what I was expecting but nice nonetheless

330ml Bottle - Hazy copper red in colour. Cherries, Dr Pepper, raisins and a hint of marzipan in the aroma. Fruity, sweet and tangy taste with Dr Pepper, Cherry Coke, raisins, marzipan and some slightly sharp hints in the finish. A lot sweeter than I was expecting it to be, but very drinkable all the same.

Cherries at the forefront, a cross between a kriek and a sour. Pours out a deep ruby brown with minimal tightly beaded head. Aroma of cough medicine, taste a bit smoother with some elements of chocolate. Cherry tootsie pop, as mentioned by an earlier rater. Pure sour finish.

Red coloured beer. Medium carbonation. The cherries really come to you in the nose. In the taste as well together with a dryness and woodiness. Taste tends to go towards a soda like artificialness. wich is a shame. Not my favourite but I can imagine fruit beer lovers will like this one a lot.

Pours ruby red with long lasting creamy head. Immediately a heavy aroma of cherry syrup. fizzy mouthfeel. Cherry syrup, red wine vinegar, red fruit bitterness. its too stringent for me.

Not bad but not for me. Compared to kriek lambics this is too sweet and syrupy. It is a nice dark heavy beer with a very outspoken cherrie flavor. It has some tartness and flavor of cherry syrup and marzipan. Luiquid candy.

Dark red beer with a small reddish head. Sweet artificial and sirop cherry aroma. Flavour of sweet cherries. Alcohol is not noticeable. (Bottle 33cl)

750ml bottle. Pours a deep, thick cherry red-brown. Foamy beige head. Big cherry aroma, thick, sweet, unmistakeable. Cool beer, in some ways like Rodenbach Grand Cru, but less tart. Has thick cherry tones that remind me of Gluhkriek, Chelque de Chose, Kasteel Rouge. Their is some faint wine like alcohol tones, but overall a smooth, sweet cherry brown. Mild port tones. The cherry is nice, but a little artificial at times, like a Lindemans. Cherry tootsie pop indeed.

Bottle... Pour clear and fairly dark with glimmers of ruby and a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is both stoopid fruity and lightly malty – bigtime black cherries with an undercurrent of caramel. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. Finishes boozy and lightly tart. Very enjoyable.
