This is a nice beer, not what I was expecting and therefore a little misleading. Will have to revisit now that I know what to expect. The name would lead you to believe that it is a sour like the aged pale, however, it is more of a cherry lambic than a sour beer. It is really well made, you donít get any of the fake plastic taste that you get from linndemens or timmermans. A pretty good beer overall.

Dark chestnut with a thick, off-white head. Aroma of cherry and almond, with a touch of malt. Sweet malty flavour with brown sugar, a hint of cherry and a tart finish

11.2oz bottle, shared by Jay. Clear dark red color. Interesting light brown slightly pinkish thin head. Couple loose dots and reaches of lace. Good, rich cherry aroma in the nose. Bigger body. Lighter, more crisp carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Kind of musty, woody aroma. Lightly tart taste, moderate sweet, light spicy bite to it. Interesting sour red. The cherry factor is nice, but everything else is a little dusty and clumsy

PriorL (1278) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUN 7, 2013
33cl bottle. APPEARANCE: red beer, off white small head. NOSE: cherry extract, "poepkes". TASTE: oh my... this is bad, too dry, too sugary, too much cherry extract... in total, a completely out of balance beer.

Very sweet, soft-drink like. Medium/Light body with good carbonation. Sweetness dominates, and itís somewhat artificial tasting

Bottle... Poured deep, dark reddish ruby with a thick forming, fizzy pinkish head. Nose had cherries along with a candied/medicinal cherry note. This came through on the flavor. With lots of sweetness. Soda pop-like. Not totally off putting though with a hint of acidity. Thick mouthfeel, warming sugary finish.

Pailhead (4418) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - JUN 3, 2013
Bottle: The aroma is loaded with sweet cherries with minimal tart cherry. It pours a dark orangish-brown with decent transparency when held to the light. It has a two finger fizzy khaki head that quickly diminishes to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. Thereís some minimal dotted lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy sweet cherry with a hint of cola. I suppose thereís a hint of tartness in the background, but itís really minimal. The finish has very light oak and a hint of vanilla. Thereís barely a hint of the 8.5%. Overall, Iím generally a sucker for cherry beers, so Iím probably going to rate this higher than most. It is sweet with virtually no sour/tart flavors. If you know youíll be disappointed that this isnít a cherry version of Petrus Aged Pale with a good amount of sourness/tartness, itís probably best to pass on this one. Fruit beer would probably be a better style listing in terms of flavor expectations.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a transparent mahogany with off-white/light beige lacing. Smells of sweet cherry juice. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Alright, but a little cloying for my taste.

Big cherry nose with a hint of almond (almost like Marzipan). Reddish brown color, Fast bing cherry on the tongue and finish disappears. Not a lambic and not trying to be one. Worth trying if you like fruit beers.
