4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from the Folsom, CA BevMo. Pours ruddy dark brown with a sort of pinkish tan head. Which didn’t last long. Aroma of sour ale and cherries. I may die in bliss. Med body. Flavor is somewhat tart cherry and a not so sour brown ale. Sour, but not all that sour. But the combination is marvelous. Label states: "The key to Heaven". Close enough. What a nice surprise.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours an opaque reddish brown. Flavor components are not in balance here. Overpowering, artificial tasting cherry sweetness bulldozes any detection of tartness. Ultimately, very medicinal and artificial tasting...a big let down compared to some of petrus’ other much better offerings.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark reddish brown color, some lace/retention. Aroma is sweet cherries with notes of oak, lightly funky. Medium bodied, sweet cherry flavor dominates with a light sourness.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sweet/tart cherries, some oak tannins. It seems too sweet and not tart enough, but I don’t think the sweetness becomes cloying. Mild tartness on the exhale, with some alcohol heat.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma of black cherry soda. Pours dark red with almost no head. Tastes like the best black cherry soda I’ve ever had. Shame it’s a beer.

Bottle:   Deep burgundy, reddish hues, moderate to large foamy tannish head, with a bit of a pinkish hue, nice
lacing.   Holy smokes, smells like Cherry Cola.   Sweet cherry juice up front.   Very faint tartness or barrel
aging.   Pretty damn sweet, and fairly artificial.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Really, this seems like
the New Glarus of Cherry beers in some way.   I was expecting a Sour Red/Brown, not a Cherry Fruit Beer.   In that
right its decent, a little artificial but enjoyable, but nothing about this really is sour.   Call it a Kriek Fruit
Beer and I would give it a great score, but as a Sour, nope.

330ml bottle (Tuulensuu, Tampere)
Lovely cherry aroma. Some sweet red/bruin notes. Beautiful smooth palate, gentle carbonation - succulent. Marascino everywhere, all the way to the late finish. Lovely full sweet malty base. No sign of 8.5% at all. This is pure indulgence. It’s desert. Anna wrote "tastes of shit", so can’t have any of the next bottle that I buy. Hahahah, joke’s on you.

On tap at Dexters, pours a dark brownish red with an off white head, the aroma was way more sweet than I was expecting, more cherry medicine like, the flavor was also way sweeter than I was expecting, not a ton of funk or sourness, the cherries are nice, but I was hoping for some more tartness mixed in, ok.
