Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters showing a dark, mahogany color, with a light amount of soft white head foam that diminished quickly to a ring & film, and produced some light waves of lacing. The nose was maraschino cherry/cherry kijafa notes, with light tartness. Light bodied, with some fizzy carbonation, the taste was sweet & mellow esters, well hidden alcohol, with the light tartness following through to the finale. Fairly tasty and aperitif-like.

Tap. Poured a clear ruby color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate sour yeast and sweet cherry aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium fruity sweet & sour flavor with a medium fruity sweet & sour finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Pours a dark garnet red with pinkish foam. The aroma is nice musty sweet cherries. The flavor is modest grains with a rich sweet cherry presence that pervades. The carbonation is medium and the oak chimes in the finish as just a hint. Lasting cherry with a light dry.

smelled like Robitussin at first, but then mellowed a bit...definitely a sour taste which isn’t necessarily bad...but also with a sweet tart taste...the two don’t seem to go together..they fight for the palate and nobody wins! Just can’t say much good about this beer...flavor is medium strong...however the taste itself isn’t very good.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2013 Strong marichino cherries on the nose. Sweet overripe cherries give way to a younger, tarter age with dry skins and slightly bitter seeds on the finish. I’m getting a bit of that cherry cough syrup but I don’t mind (for the robofiend dying to get out in all of us).

A light, bubbly, ruby red pour. Aroma smells strongly of tart cherry, a bit monochromatic. That quality permeates the entire experience of this beer: cherries are up front in the flavor, and the sour follows quickly. The finish won't decide between bitter and sour, and the ale never really presents itself. Despite the criticism, it is a well-made beer with complexities that begin to present themselves toward the bottom of the bottle. Worth trying.
