Een heerlijke volle donkere kriek. Duidelijk echte kriekensmaak. Weinig schuim.

Pours dark red with a large head.
Aromas of cherry and marzipan. Smells like cherry wine.
Flavours include more cherry, marzipan and a very slight acidity. Pretty cloyingly sweet.

Bottle from trade with Douberd, many thanks Christos. Ruby color with thick off-white head. Strong sour cherry aroma with marzipan, malt. Taste starts initially with sour cherries, continues with marzipan, almonds and distinct sweetness in finish. Enjoyable beer.

Pour on tap at Buster’s on 28th, dark reddish brown pour with thin off white head, aroma brought big jammy cherry, tart berry, some slight oak into a bit of vinegar, slight medicinal note, touch of sour grain. Taste was a mix of tart fruit, big jammy and medicinal cherry, some slight oak and vanilla, finishing slightly tart. Overall good.

Great oakey, cherry filled aroma. Dark orange brown pour. A little bit sweet, the cherry flavor comes though and blends nicely with barrel aged oak flavors. Really tasty over all.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Ruddy brown with a beige head that lasts. Aroma of sweet, slightly medicinal cherries and stones, marzipan. A little syrupy, low carbonation. Very sweet with just enough brooding sourness to make you annoyed there isn’t more. Lots of ripe cherry, some wood, vanilla, caramel. Sourness asserts itself a little at the end which is a little woody and stemmy too. The finish redeems it. Alcohol is not noticeable. Hard to rate in the "French dictation vs history essay" manner: I wish they’d made something a bit different but what it is has a lot going for it.

Looks thee circle of happiness in the glass. Deepest burgundy and absolutely brilliant, sparkling. Wavy effervescence cedes a soft plume of tight off-white cream atop. Strong sherbet nose; an unmistakable musk of candi and sugar with cherries on acid! It is hellishly fruity, strongly perfumed and musked, and a little over the top - to be nakedly honest. On the palate it is super sweet. Clammy and bound by candied fruit tones. Quite bold, but sickly. Slight astrigency on the finish. Dry length withholding of that alcohol. Very, very subtle woody notes linger but are overshadowed. A little too much ’child’ in my Oud Bruin! (33cL, 30/10/16, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)
