From BandC. OK, so I like sour cherry beer on occasion but this was pure cough medicine. Way to sweet and cloying. Serving: Bottle

Bottle. Pours a clear red-hued bronze body with a medium creamy light beige head, looking lovely. Aroma is cherries, cherry pits, almonds, red berries and hints of brown sugar and caramel. Taste is deep raisiny cherry notes, almonds, sweet red berries, brown sugar, caramel and hints of citrus and wood. Medium to full body and medium carbonation. For a sweet cherry sour, this is quite nice - complex, unusually full bodied and with a well-hidden alcohol. Very sweet of course, but not unpleasantly so.

All good, but not Rodenbach and vanderginste. Cherry, moderately acid, the fortress is not felt. It’s nice, but not more than

75cl bottle shared by Arve_Christian - thanks. Pours deep ruby with a slightly pinkish head. Fruity aroma dominated by sweet cherries with some malty and oaky notes. Sweet and fruity with some mild, but pleasant sour notes. Fairly well balanced but too much sweet cherry for my taste.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Hasle. Clear brown color, good offwhite foam. High aroma intensity; cherries! Medium body & complexity . Quite sweet, some sourness; balances well. Enjoyable

The aroma is, of course, sweet with the cherry’s coming in front. The taste is the same, only with an extra little acidity, to offset the sweetness of this beer. At last I want to add that this kind of beer, actually isn’t my taste at all, because, and I really don’t want to offend the lovers of this section, I don’t see this kind of beer as ’beer’ at all, but more as a kind of adult candy. But I certainly stay neutral when I judge it though!

From a 33cl bottle. Something of a disappointment considering how highly I’d place Petrus Aged Pale Ale. Cherries are strongly present, but against a somewhat syrupy rather than malty backdrop. Alcohol is well-hidden though. Not a well-balanced brew to my palate, but I don’t have any other oud bruins at the moment to compare it to.

Tasted in the Petrus glas (like a chalice). Intense chestnut colour; fine foam, not persistent. Smell a bit sour, very much of cherry; both sour and dried cherry, pleasantly round; caramel. Tastes not bitter but well structured. Both funny and convincing thanks to a lot of body.

Bottle, found in a local Plusmarkt. Dark red brown color. Cherry, almondy marzipan aroma with cherry pits. Sweet oaky flavor with bitter almonds, cherry and marzipan. Sourness hidden behind the sweet cherries. Not subtle at all.

One of the worst beers I’ve ever had. If you like cherry syrup, you might dig this one. Not for me though
