COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

DAA; Bottle 75 cl., from Vinmonopolet. Pours small, clear cobber with a fading creamy, bobble tanish head. Nose is moderate to heavy, funky sour, moderate cherries, caramel and spice. Taste is heavy to medium sweet and bitter with a lasting sweet berries, almondy finish. Body is medium to full, texture is is oily to creamy, carbonation is soft. I love cherries and this" brew remarkably drinkable" indeed.

Yikes. This tastes like the monstrous love child between Dr. Pepper and Robitussin. Seriously. This almost seems like the effort that would be made by a mediocre American craft-brewery in trying to craft this difficult style; so it is rather shocking that this is Belgian offering. This is not the most horrible beer I have ever tasted, but I just can’t enjoy this.

330ml bottle served in a tulip glass. Pours a clear reddish amber read forming a small light rose head with medium retention and few lacings left. Sweet fruity node. Strong notes of cherry and caramel malts. Oak. Light vinegar notes. Slightly sweet upfront. Very fruity. Again, strong notes of cherry and caramel malts. Hints of oak. Apple vinegar. Slightly sour. Quite sweet. Maybe too sweet to a serious beer. Metallic hints. Light to medium body. Average carbonation. Strong cheery aftertaste. Sweet. Good drinkability. Not bad but maybe too sweet for a Petrus.

Ruby red colour. Small head. Aroma is cassis-like, cherries, some sourness, krieken, and fruit. Light sourish taste, fruity, medium body. Nice with a good balance.

Bottle split at home, 21/11/15. Reddish brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is bakewell tart, straw, sweet cherry, marzipan. Taste comprises cherry bakewell, sweet red berry, light perfume, cherry xoaked straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Too sweet ... no complexity ... sub par for style.

Very cherry. Syrupy sweet craziness. Kind of a niche flavor. ---Rated via BeerBuddy for iPhone. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brown reddish colour. Smells cherry and cola. Taste is sweet cherries and a little bit of sourness. Not my favourite flemiah red. Nice logo on the bottle mentioning beer as "the key to heaven" :-)

Reddish brown, with a decent amount of foam. Smells like cherry, cola, and red wine. Taste is nicely sweet, with notes of cherry, wine, some hint of vanilla and oak. Really tasty.
