smelled like Robitussin at first, but then mellowed a bit...definitely a sour taste which isn’t necessarily bad...but also with a sweet tart taste...the two don’t seem to go together..they fight for the palate and nobody wins! Just can’t say much good about this beer...flavor is medium strong...however the taste itself isn’t very good.

Sweet overripe cherries give way to a younger, tarter age with dry skins and slightly bitter seeds on the finish. I’m not getting the artificial note many reviewers mentioned.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A light, bubbly, ruby red pour. Aroma smells strongly of tart cherry, a bit monochromatic. That quality permeates the entire experience of this beer: cherries are up front in the flavor, and the sour follows quickly. The finish won't decide between bitter and sour, and the ale never really presents itself. Despite the criticism, it is a well-made beer with complexities that begin to present themselves toward the bottom of the bottle. Worth trying.

Des notes de vanille, cerises surettes et bois sec, assez intense sur l’acidité, belle rondeur.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Clear, deep red brown. Nice light tan head with some persistence. Candy cherry aroma. Very clean and almost synthetic. Light oak. Very primary. Sweet. Light to moderate level of sourness. Medium bitterness. Nice depth and length of flavor. Biggest issue is the synthetic cherry aromas and flavor. Almond and marzipan flavors. I hate the profile. Layers of flavor but not for me. Still feels fresh considering the sweetness and supposed alcohol content.
I hate the profile but it does look like they hit the flavors they were after.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks zvikar. Clear deep red color. Aroma has lots of cherry candies and light oaky hints. Sweet flavor with a light sourish note, lots of cherries, a bit candy-ish, and a bit of caramel. Medium-bodied. Pleasant. Alcohol is very well-hidden.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle into tulip glass, 41347 bottle code. Pours fairly crystal clear dark ruby red color with a 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big tart cherry, black cherry, cherry skin, brown sugar, oak, light clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with big authentic cherry presence; and good strength. Taste of big tart cherry, black cherry, cherry skin, oak, clove, pepper, brown sugar, toast, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart/black cherry, cherry skin, oak, pepper, clove, brown sugar, toast, and earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of cherry flavors with moderate malt/oak/yeast flavor balance; with a good tartness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slick and moderately syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian fruit beer. Plenty of great authentic cherry flavor with moderate malt/oak/yeast balance; and extremely smooth to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
