COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

Bottled@Tuulensuu, Tampere (old backlog). Hazy coppery amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, some wood, mild cherries, floral notes and some slight sourness. Flavour is quite tart fruits/berries along with some wood, mildyeast as well as some earthy notes. The dry tartness manages to hide the alcohol rather well in this one.

Murky deep red - amber beer, good pale tan head. Nice maraschino cherry nose. Palate is light, semi dry and mildly crisp. The malt base is mildly sweet with a touch of cream. Great cherry - strong but mellow, no acid. Maraschino and black cherry in here. Slight bitterness in the finish. Nice one.

Bottle, 75cl corked. A more or less red beer, topped by a light beige head of moderate size. The aroma has lots of laquer at first, then cherries, cherry pits and marzipan kicks in. Gets quite pleasant after a while. The flavor has a little sweetness, but itís mostly quite sourish. Some oaked notes, with marzipan, almond and cherries. Some alcohol too. Full body, dryish and quite pleasantly carbonated. Well, itís very nice in a way, still far from a favorite of mine. 140418

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Belgian Rating 1000. One of my favourite styles. Really amazing I got to 1000 Belgian beers. Only behind England and USA. Such a small country yet produces so many great beers and most of my true favourites are from Belgium. Clear very deep red. Lasting beige head. Some sweetish cherry aroma. Touch of almond. Itís not exactly sour, but compared with some of the sweet beers Iíve had, itís more rounded. Itís extremely drinkable. It almost sums up Belgium. Itís a bit weird, but it is so drinkable and likeable. They make beers that make me want to drink them. I love Belgium. Attractive cherries and other red fruits. Some sweetness. Some dryness on the finish. Itís utterly drinkable and Iím pleased I picked it as my 1000th Belgian beer.

Bottle @ Fynsk Brunsviger er kommet til Ulfborg for at blive , som streger i dine hvide underbukser. Day 2. Pours dark ruby red with a small pink head. Marzipan, cherries and marzipan. They forgot the Oud Bruin. Sweet and artificial.
