Pours a dark ruby red with fruity, cherry aromas right out of the bat. Lightly bitter taste with a bit of a cough syrup taste. A bit bitter and light tartness throughout the drink. Overall, not bad for a sour!

0.33L bottle. Clear deep red with a light tan head. Nice fruit aromas. Cherry, cough syrup. Sweet, fruity flavor up front, some raspberry, but then transitions to the hallmark sourness of this style. Finishes with some residual sugars, and mildly ascerbic bitterness to go along with the sour. Full visit with a thick mouthfeel, and average carbonation. Overall, dearly representative of the style, with some nice aromas, and sweet/sour profile. Doesn’t stand out as one of the best, though.

Bottle, partial, at Mr. Goodbar. Had a very vinegary smell and feel to it, but surprisingly sweet. Almost too sweet. Nice beer but a little one-dimensional.

Bottled from Lekker Bier Joure, 17/01/15, large sample, served in a tulip glass. Almost clear dark brown color with a red glow, medium light brown head, leaving a fair amount of lacing. Aroma of huge marzipan, cherry, cherry pits. Slight tart, medium sweet. Soft carbonation, medium bodied. Like liquid marzipan. I was expecting a more sour beer actually, but sweet kriek/oud bruin is a guilty pleasure of mine and marzipan as well. So, I like it, but I understand not everybody likes what they’re getting.

this beer is underappreciated. aroma: cherry pie and wet oak. appearance: ruby red; creamy white head. taste: oak, sweet cherry soda, tart cherries, bitter aftertaste. palate: fizzy, refreshing. creamy mouthfeel.

Nice brown red. Malty with a lot of cherries. At first some sour the mix but a bit too fruity after a while as the sugar and cherries dominate the finish too much.

Sucker for the sours and like this one too. Cherry sweet taste. Light sour. Desert like flavors but not too rich.
