Had at Glunz Global Beer Expo XIX. Pours a clear, dark red with a minimal pink head that dissipates quickly. Had aromas of cherry, licorice, and alcohol. It went downhill from there. Tasted like cherry soda, but that was probably because there was way too much carbonation. Was not sour. Not impressed with this one.

From a 33cl bottle. Something of a disappointment considering how highly I’d place Petrus Aged Pale Ale. Cherries are strongly present, but against a somewhat syrupy rather than malty backdrop. Alcohol is well-hidden though. Not a well-balanced brew to my palate, but I don’t have any other oud bruins at the moment to compare it to.

Tasted in the Petrus glas (like a chalice). Intense chestnut colour; fine foam, not persistent. Smell a bit sour, very much of cherry; both sour and dried cherry, pleasantly round; caramel. Tastes not bitter but well structured. Both funny and convincing thanks to a lot of body.

Bottle, found in a local Plusmarkt. Dark red brown color. Cherry, almondy marzipan aroma with cherry pits. Sweet oaky flavor with bitter almonds, cherry and marzipan. Sourness hidden behind the sweet cherries. Not subtle at all.

One of the worst beers I’ve ever had. If you like cherry syrup, you might dig this one. Not for me though

Bottle sample at a tasting at our place. Thanks zvikar. Murky red-brown with white ring. Marzipan, cherry aroma, cherry, candy and a little caramel taste, medium body, no carbonation and long finish.

Tap. Quite nice deep, red pour with a lasting head. Inviting wood, cherry, and malt notes in the aroma. Malts, sugars, fruit. Mild alcohol burn. Didn’t blow me away flavour-wise, but nice touches on this one.

On tap at Bier Markt (Ottawa, ON). Pours a dark copper body with ruby glints and an average, lasting, beige creamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with oaky and fruity hints. Its well balanced taste carries oaky, nutty, brown sugar, and fruity notes. Ends with a decent sour finish.
