3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Tripplebrew (714) - Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA - FEB 20, 2008
Pours a very hazy golden honey with thick cream-colored head. Sweet and yeasty with a somewhat aged aroma. Flavor is definite sweet/sugared yeast undertones of caramel with hints of spice. Flavor ends a bit bitter/mineraly. Definite carbonation in this ale. This blond isn’t really anything too special. Would not spend the money for this in the future.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 tytoanderso (1476) - SLP, Minnesota, USA - FEB 4, 2008
Bottle. Been sitting around the store for a little over a year now, so I decided to give it a go. Musty and slightly dusty yeast aroma. Some malty sugary sweetness as well. Pours slightly unclear gold with a white head and lively looking carbonation. Sweet malt and slightly funky yeast on the palate. Really not that complex at all. A bit of basement funk and grassy hops but not a lot else. Medium bodied with good carbonation.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Tulip glass. Poured a rich amber/bronze color with a delicate head. Head dissipated quickly, but the lace was quite nice. A pleasing citrusy, spicy flavor with a bit of caramel and a yeasty finish. Quite drinkable, but in the end the flavors are a bit muddied.

bottle poured a hazy golden amber in color with a thin head on the beer and good constant carbination through the tasting. aroma has a yeasty sour, light citrus, perfume spice, and malt. mouth feel is medium light and flavor is somewhat sweet, again the perfume spice but not in an over the top dose, malt gives it good body, and as it warmed there was more hop spice that became present. not what i have come to expect from a blond ale, it is somewhat soft but far from bland or delicate. finish hangs on for a minute or two with some acid and a nice bite slowly fading leaving me wanting another sip.

Bottle, pours a slight cloudy gold color, with a thin white head, light aroma of bread, citrus and slight spice. Initial taste is somewhat sweet but finishes dry, slight metallic notes, slightly fruity esters. Not a bad brew.
