COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Petrus Blond Ale is a top-fermented beer. Brewed with pure spring water and carefully selected malts and hops. This blond beer is soft and full of flavour and preferably served cool.

Pour is a dark yellow with a average white head. Aroma is of sweet grainy malts. Flavor is again sweet malt with a little spicyness in there. The downfall of this beer is the weird metalic aftertaste. Fair at best.

Draught at Café Lembeek, Nagoya. Sweet and bready flavor with a bit of honey, grassy saaz hops, apricot and pineapple. Also some iron. Low bitterness but grassy hop flavor is nice. Good, drinkable stuff. Slightly lager-like. Sweet but crisp. Decent.

Grainy and bland. Very light belgian white, very boring. Slightly metallic, noting like the wine by its name. Not recommended.

Bottle. The beer poured a golden yellow colour with a thin white head. There is some malty sweetness in the aroma, the taste is much sweeter than the aroma yet there is a good amount of bittersweet flavors.

Slight fruit flavor, a rather straightforward blond ale, not very complex, but a decent ale.

Bottle. Poured into a Duvel tulip glass a clear honey golden color with a rather large fluffy, frothy white head that leaves sticky lace on the glass. Malty cereal type aromas in the nose along with some cream corn. This is interesting because the flavors build throughout your drink, starting off pretty minimal and gaining in sweetness with a slight bitterness in the end that lingers for a second. Mild belgian type notes. Medium mouthfeel.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2011 Bottle. A - Very light, crisp light brown copper color. Decent sized, foamy, smooth, bright white colored head with tiny bubbles. Really nice retention leaving a thin layer of lace. S - Quite a large level of cooked grain and vegetable like an average European Pale Lager. There are hints of what I would expect from a Belgian Pale Ale with some pale malt and sweetness and a hint of yeast. More Euro Pale than what I would like though. T - Slightly better than the nose, but not much. Still has a lot of the cooked vegetable and grain Euro Pale Lager flavor. Some pale malt, yeast, hint of spice (pepper, lemon zest, some clove). Some lemon and other fruit flavors toward the finish. Faint floral and grassy hops. Slight metallic taste as well. M - Lighter side of medium body with average carbonation. Nothing special, just average. D - Goes down easy and it doesn’t offend the taste, but I’m not really finding myself desiring another one. Notes: Strange beer that isn’t really a typical Belgian Pale Ale. Some hints of what I would expect from that style, but too much cooked vegetable and grain. This didn’t offend me with its taste, but I wasn’t really impressed. This is pretty much just an average beer.

11.2 oz. bottle- Pours clear golden with a pillowy 2 finger white head and good lacework, aroma is a major disappointment, cheap grains with some belgian yeast. The flavor is more of a Euro lager than a Belgian brew, similar to St. Pauli girl or Heineken only with a little bit of a wheat flavor. The body is medium, carbonation is high, finish is forgettable. Beautiful looking beer but very disappointed!
