Aroma is not particularly pungent, subtle burnt caramel and not too much else. Taste is initially quite sweet and malt forward, some mild nutty/raisin flavours, with low bitterness and pretty lively carbonation. Solid but unremarkable.

33cl bottle from beer52.com. A attractive clear chestnut brown pour with a thick cream head; caramel aroma; smooth and creamy in the mouth with an off-sweet, burnt caramel taste; and a creamy finish. A really pleasant Dubbel.

tmoreau (2994) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUN 20, 2015
On tap at the Beer House Chicago in Lombard, IL. as a 5 oz. serving dispensed to a flight/fest glass, displaying a clear, brownish amber color, with brownish tan head foam that diminished expeditiously, leaving some spots & streaks of lacing on the glass. The nose was sweet, caramel & malt, with esters of dark/dried fruit as plum & prune. Medium bodied, the taste was almost too much candy sweetness, with some low bitterness, and only fair carbonation that lightened the texture, and might have taken the edge off the sweetness with some added liveliness. Okay, otherwise.

Bottle - pours deep red with dense tan head. Lots of caramel, little hop and something slightly fruity. Sweet caramel up front with a dry finish. Palate is rich and full.

Das Bier ist dunkelrot und klar mit wenig beständigem Schaum. Es ist wenig bitter, etwas sauer und fruchtig mit Aromen von Sahnebonbons. Gut!

11.2oz bottle, from Dutch’s. Code on bottle reads 41540. Hazy brown red color. Totally cloudy. Thin khaki head. Dark fruit, some vanilla, mild nuttiness. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, kind of crisp lighter to moderate carbonation. Somewhat bright and effervescent. Kind of slick. Full creamy feel. Moderate bitter taste, moderate to bigger sweet, light sweet bite at the end. Some mustiness. Not a great dubbel. Kind of funky and spicy at the end, a little bit of a bite. Lots of caramel.

15.05.15. Not intensive but pleasant aroma of caramel, red fruits and wine. Small off-white head disappearing to ring. Clear ruby colour. Pleasant, complex taste of caramel and fruits with noticeable bitterness. Good bitter aftertaste.
