Aroma of raisins, caramel and chocolate malts, some red fruits. Hazy, very dark brown coloured with a brown, medium head. Taste is quite sweet, chocolate and caramel malty, raisins in it, some rye and red fruits. Slightly carbonated finish. Bit sticky and well-bodied. This brew has much potential. It is however way to sweet.

Bottle. Poured cloudy brown color with an average off-white fizzy head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sweet balanced aroma. Medium body. Medium sweet balanced flavor with a medium biitersweet finish of moderate duration.

Nothing special with this one... the theme is unbalanced overall. Awkward blend of numerous tastes that add up to a weird sweetness with undeniable caramel tone. Wish I could distinguish more, but it ends here.

(Bottle at Monks Café, Stockholm) Pours dark red/brown. Buttery, shugary aroma with some unripe berries. Sugary, alcohol flavour with a medium body. Unbalaced.

Dark brown, near black colored, medium sized lasting brown head. Aroma is sweet with toffee, caramel, chocolate and some berries. Medium bodied. Flavor is also very sweet with this toffee and berry tones, aftertaste is slightly sour with some biting carbonation and chocolate. Interesting Ale, still too sweet for my taste.

Dark opaque brown with fluffy head. Aroma smells like bacardi rum. Flavor is horrible and my guess its due to an extremely old bottle? Who knows. Soem signs of caramel and raisin but other than this beer is so sweet it taste like liquid sugar.

kramer (3878) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 6, 2006
12 oz bottle, The Beeryard, Wayne PA. Pours a clear dark brown with a ruby glow under a foamy one finger brown head. Nice retention with thick coating lacing. Aroma is sweetly malty with tons of fruity esters. Lots of banana, marshmellow, light yeast, and chewy malts. Flavor is all malt with lots of marzipan and soft fruitiness. Lots more banana up front as well. Finish is quite sweet with a little yeastiness. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a slightly cloying texture and soft fine carbonation. Overall, pretty decent but not a whole lot of complexity and depth to the flavor, just lots of fruity sweetness.

Bottle. Appearance was a large tan fizzy head that was mostly lasting with poor lacing, opaque, and a dark brown hue. Malty, caramel, sweet, and fruity and ditto for the flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium body. Quaffable.

[Bottled. Monk’s Café, Stockholm] Red-brown colour. Sweetish, caramelly nose. Still body. Concentrated flavour profile. Low on hops. Caramelley with notes of chocolate. Medium body. Unbalanced sweetness.

Bottle. Dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are chocolate and coffee malts with sweet fudge and alcohol. Flavours are chocolate and caramel malts with bready yeast, cola and fudge. Quite spicy with a good level of sparkle. A malty treat of a beer.
