Aroma is fruity - figs, raisins, and caramel. Pours a reddish brown with a rapidly disisapating beige head and minimal lacing. The taste is modeately sweet and like the nose, fruity (dark fruit, raisins, and figs). Also present are hints of caramel, molasses, some bready notes in the middle and a grainy finish. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, I found this to be a very enjoyable beer.

DAA; Bottle 33 cl. Pours clear dark brown with a large, creamy, lots of lacing, lasting tan head. Aroma is toasted malt, caramel, yeast, vanilla, sour berries, nuts and spice. Taste is medium sweet and bitter with a lasting roasted, light sour spice finish. Body is medium, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is soft.

07/02/2015 - 33cl bottle @ my brother-in-law’s. Copper coloured with small head. Aroma is malts, caramel. Taste is malts, caramel, some alcohol, sweetness but that sticky a lot of other dubbels.

Bottle. Dark copper body, medium head. Sweet aroma with brown sugar and chocolate cake. Taste has sweet dark malts and more sweet chocolate cake. Mouthfeel could be a bit fuller. Very interesting Dubbel - not resembling the classics too much but enjoyable in its own way.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Clear brown to copper. Velvety, slightly tan head, which remains for at least an hour. Caramel, malt and some wort nose and flavour. Some alcohol nose as well. Soft carbonation. Medium, smooth mouth feel. Sweet, with some bitterness. Not bad, but a bit boring.

330ml bottle. Deep copper color. Medium size, yellow head, stays. Toffee, caramel, sweetish, faint malts, creamy aroma. Caramel, mild toffee, mashy malts, faint fruity taste. Burnt caramel malts in aftertaste. Soft to almost no carbonation. Bit weird, but in a good way.

Aroma: intense caramel malts, toffee, syrup. Appearance: clear, dark brown, small, beige, creamy head. Taste: medium sweet. Plate: medium body, lively carbonation, intense sweets continue, very malty, bread, grain cereals. Overall: very nice Abbey Dubbel, incredibly sweet and malty. Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn.

Didn’t seem quite like a dubbel, in some ways taste more of a red. On tap at tap and mallet. Sharp fruity nose. Dark, clear reddish. Swirling head. Similar taste to the nose, fruity, cherry dominated. Silky mouthfeel. One dimensional. Good, not great.

Lekker veel caramel. Mooie balans van zoet en bitter. Ziet er prachtig uit, mooi bijna zwart bier. Schuim donker, blijft niet te lang staan. @het voske Breda ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
