UPDATED: MAR 22, 2013 Serving: from bottle--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles. Aroma: moderate cherry aroma with raisin and leathery overtones. Appearance: small, fizzy, light-brown initial head that quickly disappeared. No lacing. Hazy, flat, red/brown body. Taste: complex. In the initial flavor, I detected a moderate, bread-like and raisiny taste with a hint of alcohol. The finish is lightly sour and also raisin-like. Duration is longer than average. Palate: light body, dry texture, lively carbonation and metallic finish. Overall: unique and very interesting. I like it.

6.5%ABV. Abbey Dubbel. Poured out brown. 28şSRM. Nose is sweet dark malt with chin chow, bandaids, sweet red beans or azuki, especially in a red bean paste like a freshly steamed tau sar pau. Some red dates, Mouthfeel is watery. Palate has roasted sweet malty flavors with dates, dark wheat toast, honey, sweet grass jelly or chin chow, red date tea. Very slight fruity, not quite sour in the middle to give it a bit more body. Finish is light and clean and slightly bitter. There are some nice bread, toast and Graham cracker flavors in the finish. Overall sweet and malty ride, thin body.

0,33 bottle from/with pekka. - Brown sugar, breadcrust, slight funk. The flavor has mostly caramel and slight milk chocolate. Kinda reminds me of Westmalle dubbel, and that’s a good beer!

Mellette újra előjönnek a karamelles - gyümölcsös vonások. Az egész elég gyenge, és villámgyorsan eltűnik. Közepesen testes.

33 cl bottle. Hazy, amber colour with a thin, tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, toasted notes, liquorice, a rich fruitiness. Taste is light sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes lasting fruity sweet with lingering caramel malts and toasted malts. Lovely Dubbel.

Butelka. Barwa miedziana z rubinowymi refleksami, przybrudzona, zamglona. Piana obfita, jasnobeżowa, drobniuteńka i trwała. Ładnie zdobi szkło. Prezentuje się perfekcyjnie. Aromat klasyczny, estrowy - nuty suszonych owoców i odrobina karmelu. W smaku wstępnie zaznacza się lekka kwaśność i chwilę później umiarkowana, karmelowa słodycz. Wyraźne są również suszone owoce. Ma przyjemną, gładką teksturę. Alkohol świetnie ukryty. W odczuciu dość pełne. Goryczka niska, niemal niewyczuwalna. Wysycenie umiarkowane - odpowiednie.

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel, Belgium. The beer is deep ruby red/dark brown colored and has a large stable creamy head, with livingly Co2. The aroma is malty from the dark roasted malts, and also has notes of caramel, dark fruits, raisins and a hint of cacao. The taste is sweet and malty, with tones of caramel and roasted malts, yeast and some brown sugar. It ends light bitter and has tones of cacao and roasted malts.
