COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark ruby red – red as wine. The style is also called the Burgundy of Flanders, and is a very typical and common beer in West Flanders
Created by a secret blend of the aged and sour ‘mother beer’ with fresh brewed sweeter beer, this beer produces a sour-sweet balance, set off by the underlying bitterness of the hops. A discovery! The best in its style! Light in alcohol, exciting complex flavors and tastes come to the forefront.
Although serving cold is recommended, taking time to drink it will release more aromas towards the end of your glass.

Sweet, sour, dates, caramel, sweet. Dark red to brown, rather opaque. Malty yet sweet and sour, over ripe fruit, dried fruits, balsmaic, burnt sugar, earthy. Light short fizz in the mouth, very light vicosity, lingering flavour from sweet, to sour, to dry slightly bitter. This is another beer everyone should try if not this one then this style. Important.

Drank from a pint glass, poured from an 330ml bottle. Pours a beautiful clear brown color with plenty of light beige head. Slightly sour aromas of cherry, pears, and other fruits. Nice a complex brew that makes your tastebuds tingle, but incredibly smooth!

The beer has a beautiful appearance. The color of the beer is a beautiful deep ruby red. The beer is beautifully clear. You can see some amounts of small bibles rising towards the top of the glass. At the surface they create a thin drape of foam, which is the remainder of a larger frothy brown foam, which tends to collapse rather quickly. The smell of the beer is rather mild. I’ve expected some stronger aromas. I smell some sour yeasty barnyard aromas, together with a rather simple bread like malt aroma. I don’t really smell the hops in the beer. There might be a little resinous hop aroma, but I can’t clearly smell it. After the beer had warmed up a little, the sour yeast aroma gets a lot stronger and fils almost all of the nose. The taste is slightly stronger, but it isn’t really my favorite. I’m not that into the sour Belgian beer types. I’m more a bitter hop/roasted malt type of guy. The flavor has a rather strong sour yeast flavor to it. The beer also has a dry sensation, because of the sourness. It leaves the mouth really dry, longing for a sip of water (or another beer). The beer has a small slightly bitter touch of oak wood, though I expected s stronger oak flavor. This isn’t really my type of beer I’m afraid.
