3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Complex aroma of oak, porto, raisin, cherry, caramel and chewing gum. Sweeet and sour flavor with chewing gum, some oak and grapes. Well made Flemish brown.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rich frothy head, cherry aroma. Dark clay color. Sweet flavour, also sour but not tart sour. Malty, cherry flavour. Not refreshing but certainly interesting.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.2 oz capped bottle: dark maroon with purple highlights. Dense persistent light brown foam that brings a sharp bitterness to the lips as I taste. A good bit of fruit is the aroma: oaky cherries skins, tart green grapes, musty wood, almonds, and plums. Heavily carbonated which works pretty well to carry the chewy malt and lusciously tart fruits across the tongue, but the flavour and tartness quickly dwindles which was a little disappointing. Overall though I liked the full tart flavours and how they combined with the rich, earthy malt component; tasty.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled: Dark red coloured. Has a thin beige head. Aroma is a little bland. Some sourness and a little bit of fruitsweetness. The flavour is bland as well. A little acidic sourness but not as distinct as I prefer in this style. Is quite dry in the end, but dies quickly on the palate. A little disappointing.

Not so sour Flemish sour. Good stuff, with an interesting tart finish. Great brown color.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beautiful deep amber/cherry color beer with a foamy tan head. Somewhat sour malty cherry flavor. Flavor is mild malty at first but after a while it bites with a nice and acidid underlying tone of cherries and wood. Very nice and refreshing but lacks a little more bite to the sourness. Still a very fine beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 26, 2006 (Bottled) Nice red-brown color with a small, fading head. Sweetish oaky-sourish-rhummy aroma. Slightly tart and sugary cherry flavor with not much malt. Medium-bodied, medium-carbonated palate. A quite decent oud bruin.
(Bottled, 2/22/2004, was 6-4-6-3-12=3.1) Very dark, deep red color. no head. Very sour, malty, clove aroma. Sour, cherry flavor, vinegar? Quite full-bodied and sour palate. Gets better towards the end of bottle as one gets used to the sourness. An interesting bruin, but not quite my style.

Sour almost vinegar, oak, musty deep reddish-brown, garnet(finally found a use for that word)...very little foam. acidic sweet tanginess in the finish, not a lot of malt, but a bit! enjoyable lingering taste??? You gotta like the funk/acid to like this beer. I'd like to use it in a sauce...
