2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 ClubGonzo (1732) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 15, 2010
On tap @ Petrus Cafe, Ieper. Pours a deep brown-red body with a moderate tan head. Aroma is oak and vague balsamic notes. Taste is wood, mild caramel malts and hints of balsamic. Drinkable palate, but otherwise a pretty boring oud bruin; not much to add here.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mkel07 (1556) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - SEP 12, 2010
330ml bottle. Pours with a tan rocky and deep head. Dark brown, almost red in colour. Looks inviting with aromas of spiced fruit and a hint of sourness. Flavour is pleasant with a slight tartness in the finish.

Bottle. Pours a lovely mocha color with a nice, thick head. Aroma of fermented fruits. Analogous flavors. Perhaps expecting a bit more bitterness to this and perhaps more of a bread flavor. Texture-wise and and appearance-wise it is great. Taste a little too sweet and sour for my taste.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 boccefloyd (101) - Bon Air, Virginia, USA - SEP 10, 2010
not being the biggest sour fan around, it’s hard for me to compare this with anything else but here it goes: pours a deep amber with red hilights, nice thick and creamy tan head that lasts and does some lacing. definitely sour on the nose with plenty of cherries and a small hint of malts.. The beer has a medium, creamy body, plenty of carbonation, and a malt sweetness in the finish. The taste is cherries up front, giving way to malts in the finish. Still not a big sour fan but this one is ok by me. One at a time will do though.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bluebetty (820) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 1, 2010
Bottle. Pours a very dark copper with dense tan coloured head. Nice lacing as it falls away. Great winey aromas balances by some sweet malt and a touch of acidity. Good stuff. Flacvours aren’t quite a good as the aromas. Biscuity malt sweetness and some some tartness near the end. Some oak comes through. Medium mouthfeel. Love this style and whilst this is not my favourite it is still agood beer all the same.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 slowrunner77 (185) - reno, Alabama, USA - AUG 29, 2010
pours a cloudy brown with a thin tan head. slightly sour & malty aroma with some oak/woodiness as well. not too assertive. body is a bit weak. taste is nice, but not very complex. the base brown must be pretty simple stuff. overall, not a bad product at all, but for a sour, it’s pretty tame...maybe even a touch boring.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 rubbishystuff (1202) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 21, 2010
I love Oud Bruin. This was not bad, but lacked something. The flavor was a little muddied. It was a more mellow tart than other sours. Serving: Bottle

pours dark brown, about 1/2 inch thick head. aroma is light, sweet. taste is barnyard yeast, butter, brown sugar, dough. refreshing light carbonation. not the best belgian brown ale.
