3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jaghana (1803) - Strasbourg (France), FRANCE - JUN 23, 2010
Bottle 33cl. A brown ale with nice brownish head. Smell is typically on oude bruin side with notes of hops. Aroma is more gueuse like, very dry, notes of dark fruits, less interesting than expected. Not bad but with less wood and cherry character than other oude bruin.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20 kbutler1 (1078) - Minnesota, USA - JUN 22, 2010
Bottle. Poured a dark reddish brown mahagony with a nice 2 finger head that slowly dissipates. Woody sour notes in the nose. Watery very slight sour taste is the first thought that runs through my head as I take my first sip. Fairly light mouthfeel on this one. Not really that good for a sour ale. Really not sour at all. Slight bitter end. Looks a lot better than it tastes or smells. Glad I only bought 1 to try it.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Mora2000 (2732) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 21, 2010
The beer pours a clear reddish-brown color with a white head. The aroma is dark fruit with some grape notes. I don’t get much tartness in the smell. The flavor is very light tart grapes with a nice caramel malt backbone that adds some sweetness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A decent beer, but not near as good as the Petrus Aged Pale, which is excellent.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bbrock81 (274) - Le Mars, Iowa, USA - JUN 21, 2010
On tap at the Red Monk in Des Moines. Pours a dark brown with a hint of red, and a fluffy head. Aroma is of sour fruits and vinegar, with a malty, biscuity base and a hint of yeastiness. The flavor is similar, with a sweet, malty base, then a very fruity and slightly vinegarry flavor. The palate is good, not overcarbonated.

Aroma of sour cherries, slight tart apples and grapes. Appearance is red\brown with tan head. Flavor matches the nose. Palate is bubbly and creamy. Decent Bruin.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Muggus69 (854) - Newcastle, NSW, AUSTRALIA - JUN 16, 2010
Bottle from Brussels.
Clean bronze body, dense offwhite head.
Odd woody aroma, quite red wine-like with rich nutty/toffee malts layered underneath.
Lean body, slightly creamy texture, low carbonation.
Very vinous in flavour; lactic sharpness to it, oaky, buttery, vanilla, toffee malt, tannin somehow, sour cherries and dark berries come to mind.
Very different and enjoyable!
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (6146) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUN 10, 2010
Bottle. Pours with a large tan head over a hazed mahogany body. Decent retention and some lace. Aroma of cherries, dark and pitted fruit, raisins, red wine, oak, metallic, bready. Light tart tinge. Flavor is mildly tart, light acidity, cherries, plums, metal, bread, oak. Finishes on the sweet side. Lively bubbles. Medium dry finish. Medium to light bodied.
An okay beer, but as a sour it is not my favorite for the lack of sourness itself.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 jodah52 (205) - Michigan, USA - JUN 2, 2010
Pours rich, cloudy brown with small tan head. Sweet aromas of british malt and oak. Taste is sweet and carmely, with a hint of metal in the finish - the only bad point of this beer, I think - that disappears quickly, to be replaced with a long, warming finish of hay and stone. Nice british ale; there are better, but quite nice.
