Dark ruby red – red as wine. The style is also called the Burgundy of Flanders, and is a very typical and common beer in West Flanders
Created by a secret blend of the aged and sour ‘mother beer’ with fresh brewed sweeter beer, this beer produces a sour-sweet balance, set off by the underlying bitterness of the hops. A discovery! The best in its style! Light in alcohol, exciting complex flavors and tastes come to the forefront.
Although serving cold is recommended, taking time to drink it will release more aromas towards the end of your glass.

Aroma: Sour fruit, oak, roasted malts, brown sugar. Appearance: Ruby red when hold in light, brown when not. Slight white head. Taste/Palate: Starts sweet with caramel and brown sugar, turns sour thanks to the oak and sour fruit.

33cl bottle at home. Reddish brown with a small slightly off-white head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Pretty sour with some fruity sweetness and bitter tones. Green apples, caramel, malts, brett, ripe red ruits and herbs. A nice sour brew.

Barwa ciemnorubinowa. Piana beżowa, drobnepęcherzyki. Oblepia szkło do gońca. W aromacie nuty karmelowe, owocowe, wiśniowe, lekkie nuty palone. W smaku zdecydowanie wyczuwa się nuty winne, wiśniowe. Cierpkie, lekko kwaskowe z nutami palonymi. Goryczki prawie nie ma.

Pours a dark mahogany with a thin long-lasting white head. Aroma is slightly woody, fruity, and funky. Flavor is subtle wood and tart fruit. This is decent, but lacking.

Didn’t like this one. Pours slightly reddish brown with some light brown big bubbles. Aroma is light, though I can smell the tartness to come. Sour flavors ruin what could be nice notes of sweet berries. This was close to the drain.

330ml bottle. Red-brown beer with a small but stable off-white head. Nose is sweet caramel malts with a light woody red wine vinegar presence. Taste is sweet toasty malts with a mild sour tartness that dissipates the further down the glass you get. It is sweeter than Rodenbach’s Flemish red ales. Medium bodied with a flattish carbonation. Very drinkable.

Part of the Petrus Belgian Sour Power 6-Pack - $22.99 at Bullock’s Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with a full charge of khaki-colored froth. Modest lacing.

Smell: Lightly sweetish, lightly tart-scented nose with touches of chocolaty, caramelly maltiness paired with an acetic, vinous, cherry-like quality that melds and meshes in my mind to be described as ’purple’ flavoring.

Taste: Brown maltiness hinting softly of chocolate, sweetish caramel and toast giving way to encroaching earthy woodsy tones and a plum wine, lightly balsamic, cherryesque accent. Relatively easy-going, mellow acidity. Mildly sour and dry on the fairly clean finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Slight tongue-coating action present.

Overall: Not particularly displeasing, just a little ho-hum and while though a different beer, .
