3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BigSound (27) - Florida, USA - DEC 20, 2011
Had at 7th Sun in Dunedin FL.
Pours a deep Mahogany with brilliant red hues. The aroma is nice and malty with notes of leather and some ripe fruit.
Some nice earthy malt flavors up front with some slightly tart notes in the back.
The body is fairly light with a medium/high carbonation.
A very nice wild ale, very mild. This would be a great beer to use as an introduction to sours.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Duffbowl (2) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - DEC 20, 2011 does not count
Aroma: A beautiful earth and wood aroma, smells a bit like the garden after rain.
Appearance: Enticing hazy dark brown body, with a well formed, soft tan head.
Taste: Mild tartness, with a good level of malt. The oak pokes it’s head through enough to be noticeable.
Palate: Light bodied, but fills the mouth with an initial softness that is soon overtaken by a dryness that is very welcome.
Overall: Gorgeous, I love this beer with every sip.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 norsedoc (238) - USA - DEC 3, 2011
Pours a medium red brown with a fluffy head that drops away quickly. A little cherry nose and sweet black cherry flavor. Finishes quickly.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 arondee (364) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - DEC 2, 2011
Pours a clear brown color with a tiny white head that fades to nothing and small amount of lacing. Aroma is cherry, vinegar, and a little bit of malt. The aroma is a little weak. The taste is a typical brown ale with some of those familiar sour tastes but it’s very thin and watery. It’s an ok beer but it’s boring.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby brown hue with a thin beige head. Aroma is rich and sweet/sour with some black cherry notes. Nice flavor with a sour aftertaste.

Sampled at the 2011 Cajun Cafe Fall Beer Festival. Pours a light brown with red highlights and an off-white head. Nose is some light malt, some wood, some light vinegar, and a hint of sour dark fruit. Flavor is a bit of malt, some mild fruit, and a light hint of sour. There is some balsamic vinegar, but it is very light. Light in body and a good intro to sours.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 OmegaX (383) - Florida, USA - NOV 14, 2011
Bottle pour ---> snifter. Nose is overripe cherries/fruit. Some slightly oakey and acidic vinegar notes, but definitely not overwhelming at all. Poured a sweet murky brown swamp water color. A nice off white head too. Very easy drinker. Taste is grape/raisin with some slight acidic notes. Almost like a red wine. Some slight oak flavors. For a sour this is rather tame but that makes it enjoyable for me. Not too extreme.
