3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Gpnterojd (172) - Orangeville, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 26, 2007
Pours deep burnt read with a sizeable head. Aroma of grapes, dates, caramel and vanilla. No hops present. It almost tastes like a mix between coke and red wine: mild, acidic, and fruity. Dry on the mouth, a bit thin. Almost reminds me of a cider. What flavour it has is nice, but lacks complexity and is weak.

Very nice oud bruin with the oak notes giving a nice woody dryness and importing a vanilla sweetness that plays well with the sour character of Petrus. Must be drunk cool, not cold, it really opens up the middle and finish.

A dark ruby whose head does not stay around for long. Nose is malty with an oak edge showing itself after a strong attempt to draw the scents out. Flavor is fairly smooth and not too distinct. Malt presence is slight. Feel has a bit of carbonation to it that might border on a bit too much...well it would be too much if there were more than what is already present. This is very drinkable for how smooth it is, but the question to be asked is why would you go for this one repeatedly?
This is the last from the 6-pack from Petrus. The "aged pale" is by far the winner.
