I can’t really give this beer a fair rating, since the bottle I had was a bit mistreated. There was rust under the foil and on the cap. The taste, when poured, was still somewhat enjoyable, with dry, tannic, burgundy wine flavors . The finish though was slightly watery, and extremely metallic, like sucking on a penny. Not sure if this had anything to do with the rust on the bottle but its a very good chance that it did. Overall, I’ve decided not to buy beer from this particular store anymore.....

8.4 oz. bottle. Cherry cola colored. Whatever miniscule head appeared was completely gone after I blinked once(has to be a photoshop picture). Fruity, sour aroma. B-l-a-h, B-o-r-i-n-g. 2 years of aging for THIS? Light sour apple flavor. Looks and tastes like flat Coke, except thinner and with a fruity, instead of syrupy sweetness. This being my second Flemish sour, I found Duchesse de Bourgogne far superior. Lamest Belgian beer I’ve ever had. Nothing happening here for me. Next.

330ml bottle from BeersOfEurope. Smooth malty beer with prickly carbonation, some sugar and some light balsamic vinegar. It’s a gentle relaxed beer of modest character. The flavours are pleasant and hold together well. It’s not sharp or assertive - the most aggressive aspect is the slight acidity of the carbonation. OK.

Dark-ruby body with a small beige head. Had a tasting of popular belgium Flemish Sours (Duchesse, Rodenbach GC, Vlaamse, Queue de Charrue, Vichtenaar, etc.) and unfortunately I think there was something wrong with our bottle of Petrus Oud Bruin. Corky nose/taste despite being a capped bottle. Taste had equal amount of cardboard and oak wood. Moderately sweet. A bit too Oud (old) maybe? Very thin. Lifeless body. Borderline infection. Petuntrusty Oud Bruin.

its like the flemish sour for beginners. the ipa before the double. mine didnt pour with nearly the head thats in the picture and i cant see how it ever could. it was gone shortly after i set the glass down. i drank it from an arrogant bastard glass which made it better.

Pours a deep maple syrup brown with little head. Malty aroma of apple, pear, oak, and sour notes. Flavor is a little underwhelming, but what is there is good. Nice sourness and dry finish. A little watery.
