2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 nick76 (3461) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAY 25, 2007
The aroma is sour with sweet dark malts, fruit, and yeast. The appearance is brown with a small but persistent head. The malt character in this one is more pronounced than in the aged pale. But, it is still a sour beer and not totally to my liking. The palate is a little thin on this one. Overall all I can say is that it’s an improvement over the aged pale.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jake65 (2095) - Williston, North Dakota, USA - MAY 17, 2007
Bottle: Amber pour with a moderate beige head. Nose is strong of fruits and sweet/tart. The taste is very mellow with sweet malt and fruit into a lighter tart finish. Soft (a little overly soft) character. Thanks to BuckDich for this one.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 LinusStick (2386) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 12, 2007
Pour was a dark brown with a big bubble tan head. Aroma of vinegar and malt. Taste was malt and water with a vinegar aftertaste. Very thin mouthfeel...not watery but close. Not much going on in this one and very weak for the style.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jarspag (605) - Orange County, California, USA - MAY 12, 2007
Bottle. Not bad, mild tingle on the tongue with a nice smooth palate and a sweet/dry finish....overall, a little too thin but still quite an enjoyable beer.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 RoyceH (1129) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - MAY 6, 2007
Bottle, Aikman’s, St Andrews. Dark clear ruby, thin off-tan head. Nose is fruity, alcohol, winter fruit, some hops. Mouth is overcarbonated, very cherry, sour, lambic style. Some malty sweetness. Good, a little tart. Quite crisp and succinct on palate
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 fishingnet (1047) - Brandon, Florida, USA - MAY 5, 2007
Bottle. Pours a clear dark brwon with ruby highlights and a large long lasting light tan head that leaves good lacing. Very soft aroma of oak, dark fruit, cherries, and slightly acidic. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a faint tartness. A good beer but it lacks most of the character of a Oud Bruin.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (3998) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 5, 2007
Bottle: Dark brown with deep amber hues, large frothy light beige head, spotty lacing.   Nose of soft oak, slight vinegar, soft
fruitiness.   Seems like Duchess light.   Soft tart start, malty, fairly sweet but not as sweet as Duchess.   Has a fruity
aspect, moreso pale fruit skin with a unripened cherry flair.   Somewhat spritzy on the tongue, body is moderate.   This comes off
as a lighter more unsweetened version of Duchess, along with less vinegar.   Not very dry at all, nor all that tart.   Actually,
this one is rather boring.   Perhaps a good gateway for those who have never tried the style, but overall just a bit too weak.
