Dark ruby red – red as wine. The style is also called the Burgundy of Flanders, and is a very typical and common beer in West Flanders
Created by a secret blend of the aged and sour ‘mother beer’ with fresh brewed sweeter beer, this beer produces a sour-sweet balance, set off by the underlying bitterness of the hops. A discovery! The best in its style! Light in alcohol, exciting complex flavors and tastes come to the forefront.
Although serving cold is recommended, taking time to drink it will release more aromas towards the end of your glass.

DAA; Bottle 33 cl. Pours clear brown with a large, creamy, lacing, lasting tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, yeast, vanilla, sour berries, bread and spice. Taste is medium sweet and bitter with a lasting roasted, sour spice finish. Body is medium, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is lively.

Flaska inköpt@Bier Tempel Bryssel. Brunröd vätska med tunnt skum. Dofter av ekfat och bär. Lätt syrlig inledning som sedan övergår i lite sötma och jästig smak. Når inte fram till klassledarna.

Copenhagen 10/1 2015. 75 cl bottle from Netto. Pours reddish brown with off-white head. Only slowly subsiding. Very spicy aroma with a little sourness. Clear notes of alcohol. Low carbonation. Taste is dominated by sourness. Some overripe fruit and a bit of alcohol. Not the Best Belgian I have tasted.

Ok. Sours are not our cup o tea so this is the first we've tried. This one isn't bad. Mediocre

Pours a very deep copper body with a creamy, beige, long-lived head. Good lacing. Quite strong aroma of sweet and tart fruits, cask wood and bark. Notes of vanilla and red wine in the back. Moderate flavour of acidic and tart fruits and berries (especially red ones). At the same time the fruits and berries feel sweet. So, sweet & sour it is. Also quite woody, and with caramel in the back. The taste is light sweet, light bitter and very light sour. Light bodied, dry and moderately carbonated. A very gentle and not terribly exciting sour. But enjoyable.

Pours dark brown, tan head. Smell is wood, mineral, currant. A little chemical-y to my nose. Taste is medium sour, grape, prune, oak. Needs more acid IMO; I like my sours much more zingy. OK sour but would not get again. Their aged pale is much better.

The smell is very hoppy with notes of citrus and caramel. Pours clear brown with a white head. The taste is rather sweet with a hint of sweet grapes.

Bottle, 33cL. @Welsh pub, Angers, France. A clear dar brown beer with a good white head ; medium retention ; OK lacing. Woody roasty aroma, acid, caramel, fruity in the end (prune). Medium sour to light (end of tasting), light sweet, bitter note. Not too dry. Medium body, watery texture, average to soft carbonation, sweet>sour finish. Overall, I enjoyed this oud bruin : 2 times during tasting. First part develops woody aroma & medium sourness. Second part develops fruity notes by decreasing sour intensity. Happy.
