Dark ruby red – red as wine. The style is also called the Burgundy of Flanders, and is a very typical and common beer in West Flanders
Created by a secret blend of the aged and sour ‘mother beer’ with fresh brewed sweeter beer, this beer produces a sour-sweet balance, set off by the underlying bitterness of the hops. A discovery! The best in its style! Light in alcohol, exciting complex flavors and tastes come to the forefront.
Although serving cold is recommended, taking time to drink it will release more aromas towards the end of your glass.

Holy god, I’m impressed. I’m really surprised with it’s low score after sitting down and enjoying this. Wonderfully sessionable, slightly sour brew, that impressed me most with its creamy, almost frothy, and oily mouthfeel. If you want to have a friend step into the sour end of the pool slowly, I’d say this is a great way to do it.

Bottle from Willow’s Market in Menlo Park, CA. Light fruit / sour / oak. Very little flavor. The seltzer of sours.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours clear red brown with a thin off-white head. Aromas of red fruit, cordial, something sweet. Taste is Cola, light sour tang. Quite fizzy. Sweet finish. Herbal notes. Not quite what I expected.

Butelka 0.33l (23.02.2017). Piwo klarowne o rubinowo-czerwonej, opalizujacej barwie. Piana jasno-bezowa, obfita choc niebyt trwala. Aromat winny, slodkawo-kwaskowy, owocowy, niezbyt intesywny. W smaku lekko wytrawne z nutami adekwatnymi do aromatu z delikatnym, subtelnym winno-kwaskowym posmakiem.

A deep brown beer with reddish hues and a decent head of foam. Notes of candi sugar, yeast, and a light tartness in the smell. Some of the brown ale hits my palate to start. Followed by a wee bit of the candi sugar, yeast, and a very mild sour taste or two. Light body and lots of carbonation make for a so so mouthfeel.

330ml bottle from Saveur-Biere.fr. Pours dark brown with a shy receding head. Taste is fairly light on oud bruin flavours, with a soft sourness and teasing sweet flavours. Certainly not a bad oud bruin but just expected more.

W aromacie czerwone owoce, wino. W smaku podobnie. Czy czuć beczkę, w której piwo leżakowało? Nie wiem... Może delikatnie. Lekko kwaskowate, z lekką goryczką. Gdyby nie ten metal...

Pours a very dark brown with a good head in a snifter. Aroma is wine, citrus, very wood forward, funky, cherry, very tart and sour. Taste is slightly stronger than the aroma, wine and cherry forward, sour but not too much, dry wood finish. Great beer, could drink it all day long in the summer.

Kolor ciemny rubinowy pod światło. Piana początkowo obfita z drobnych pęcherzy osiadła do minimalnej warstwy w czasie degustacji. Piwo można pić i pić.

Cerise beer with a decent head that leaves some lacing. The aroma: delicate notes of dark fruits, vinous, some wood that from time to time changes miracously into... smoked note, cherry - the aroma is good, interesting but definitely too subtle. Vinous sourness in the taste seems to be allright but again asks for more intensity. The finish is a bit disturbing due to an irritating note of metal. Luckily, the latter vanishes into thin air when the beer warms up. Imperfect as it is, the beer is still good enough to enjoy it, although - to be fair and square - I’ve tried a way better sour ales than this one.
