COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark ruby red – red as wine. The style is also called the Burgundy of Flanders, and is a very typical and common beer in West Flanders
Created by a secret blend of the aged and sour ‘mother beer’ with fresh brewed sweeter beer, this beer produces a sour-sweet balance, set off by the underlying bitterness of the hops. A discovery! The best in its style! Light in alcohol, exciting complex flavors and tastes come to the forefront.
Although serving cold is recommended, taking time to drink it will release more aromas towards the end of your glass.

Dark amber color. Strong aroma; cherries and vinegar. Quite dry, not too much sour, but with a background bitter note out of place. Average Oud Bruin.

Draft, tasted side by side with Kelso Imperial Red and Bockor Bellegems Bruin. This one had the most bitterness, which clashed a bit with the deep sourness at the heart of the beer.

Bottled. Clear, reddish brown, with a small beige head. Slightly mild and acidic aroma, with berries and some malty sweetness. The flavor is quite mild too, with berries, sourness and green apples. Thin body and a mellow finish. A lovely, delicate beer that should be enjoyed without too many beers tasted the same night. (060704)

Bottle. Small head with short duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are malt, cheese, citrus and caramel. A little too much carbonation.

Bottle at Dæmningen. Clear red/brown - light brown head. Aroma: The fluffy head smells like sour-tuborg-hops !! But after that comes bikeglue and light wood. Taste: Red berries, light sour, light wood, malty, light rubber - bikegluem lbalsamic vinegar, acid. Too light in all asbects.

Bottle, 5.5%. The aroma is clearly metallic. Cloudy dark brown colour, red shine. Small light brown aroma. The flavour is slightly malty with a faint acidity. Tastes OK, but I would have liked it sweeter and more acidic.

Bottled 33 cl (BB 06/2008). Ruby red color, good off-white head. Nose has sour fruityness and metal. Grassy hoppy flavor, then sourness. Long aftertaste is again hoppy and sour. Slightly metallic. Quite balanced as a sour ale.

Leighton (13539) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 9, 2011
Bottle at home in London. Pours cola brown with a moderate, tan head. Sour nose, some plum and ripe fruits. Light to medium sweet flavor, bit of toast and dark sugars, ripe and tart fruits, subtle bread. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild tart finish, slight vinegar, fruits, leather. Very decent stuff.
