3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A- pours a dark amber brown with a small head that disappeared and left little lacing.
S- Vinegar, oak wood, dark fruit come out as the beer settles, sour green apple, and a bit of metal are there throughout.
T- Sour cherries, oak, vinegar up front all of that fades as you drink and the aftertaste is a muted version of what you get at first. Nice, but wish flavors were more pronounced throughout. Almost watered down at the end.
M &D- medium to light bodied and feels a bit watered down at times. Carbonation was fine but wish it had a nicer body but all that allowed for better drinkability. Although I could drink quite a few of these, I have other ones I would rather have.
Overall a nice beer but if I am looking for an old Bruin, I am looking for more than this one. Still a nice example and one that is easily accessible.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A sweet and sour aroma of flowers and apples. Appears clear light golden yellow, thin foam, but nice lace. Taste is mostly sour balanced with some sweet and slight bitterness of bubblegum and apple. Palate is a little foamy, and thinnish. Overall, this is a very good beer! Should be considered a Berlinerweise.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
97 version. Pours dark red with little to no head. Nose is figgy and vinous. Flavor is sour and noticable presence of Belgian candi sugar. Mild sense of cherry flavor. Tart dry finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark amber with mahogany hues. A beige head of a half-inch sunk to a full coverage skim-coat. Decent lacework throughout the glass.
Aromatics are vineous and meaty, with wine-soaked raisins and turned earth.
Not a whole lot of presense in the nose however. Lacking intensity and depth.
Creamy, velvety mouthfeel. Rich and soft.
The pallet starts off with a hint of tart vineousity, ripe fruit, juicy malt, and an earthy woodiness.
Hints of figs, worstershire, and lemon follow through.
Alcohol and bitterness are nill, and the beer finishes fairly quick.
An easy drinker, but really too tame in character. The beer just needs a lot more of what it already has.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Picked up a bottle at Boulder Liquor Mart. Poured into a bowl glass. Not much on the nose and the head goes away pretty quick, but stays strangely carbonated. Appears like a dark amber or brown ale. The taste is similar to a Belgian lambic, just not as bubbly. Good sour fruit flavors, cherries, maybe green apple, and grapes. I did not pick up anything from the wood. The finish is very nice with lingering flavors of grape juice.. Reminds me of being a kid. Great beer, would defiantly recommend and drink again.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 75cl magnum. Pours a ruby red color that settles brown and dark red with a huge, stable, foamy beige head. Fruity, delightful aroma of mostly sour apples, ripe dark fruits, figs, apricots, grapes and cherries. Malty and yeasty nose as well. Flavour is even more fruity than the nose suggest. Light sweet at first of caramel malt and yeast, after which, more cherries, apples, (red) grapes and plums dominates the taste. Moderate sourness in a long, dry rather bitter finish. Light-medium bodied, average carbonation and a sticky, oily texture. Well balanced mixture of tartness, acidity and sweetness.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
POured a dark ruby red with a decent sized off white head that lasted for most of the glass...Although the head retention is partly due to the etching on the bottom my tulip...Nevertheless the beer continuously emitted a distinct odor of cherries...Flavor was of Sour cherries but not overly sour quite pleasant in fact...Very sweet malt comes through leading into a slightly acidic finish...Body was a bit thin for my taste...I was suprised at how little of the oaking came through after 20 months...All in all a very decent beer

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.2 fluid ounce bottle poured into a 2008 GABF tasting glass (yes, I didn’t break mine.) Smooth, medium bodied, really rather unassuming. Understated oak-aged toffee malt flavors with hints of sour cherry.

On first glance it looks good and smells ok too, but the taste is a real disappointment
