3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl Bottle. Poured a hazy brown with a persistent fizzy head. Aroma: sour berries and wood. Taste: sour berries, wood, tart wine notes, mild water. Thin body. Lots of carbonation. Overall a good beer - has a very dry white wine type tone about it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
hey, my first sour ale! that said, i didnít know what to expect. flavor was mostly chocolate malt with a hefty refreshing sour quality. sort of thin on the palate but the finish was pretty big on it, sort of weird how it all came together. i could see how some people couldnt get into sour ales though, had a sort of leather/wood quality to it. like itíd been left out in the rain. iíll have to get more into the style someday.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml botle. Pours a dark, opaque brown. Lots of carbonation, small frothy head that dissipates quickly. Smells very malty, with a mix of fruit, mostly banana. Palette is smooth, but quite tangy. Flavour is complex and quite nice. Can definitely taste the oak aging.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brown colour, with medium brown head. Smell is lactic acid, absolutely wood, and some vinous notes. Taste is wood, leather, and again some lactic acid, but less than in the nose. Dry finish. Good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2005 Very different from any beer Iíve ever had. Sour brown ale. Brown bour with a light tan head that laced very well. Underwhelming aroma thatís sour and spicy. Sour flavor with a finish that left my mouth dried out. Very reminiscient of the Devilís Horn without the raspberry finish.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours dark brown with a thin tan head and good retention. Aroma is spicy caramelly, with dark fruits and some metal. Flavor is sour with some metal, dark cherries and woody undertones. Too sour for me to enjoy, but I did not pitch it. Not bad.

Sweet full aroma, hints at the wild. Taste is sweet and full, not at all light. Very carbonated. Very dark red color.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. A very clear brown with a foamy white head that diminishes to a thin film. Nose is sweet, a little doughy, a bit barnyardy, with a sour fruit tone. Flavor is light tartness carried by the effervescent carbonation alongside a medium sweet malt backbone. Reminds me of a very mild balsamic vinegar with its sweet/sour levels and balance. A pleasant brew, thought not particularly out of the ordinary for the style.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark Amber with good head retention, sour and malty aroma and flavor, kind of fruity, dates, prunes. Medium sourness and body. Just a little bit funky. Tasty beer.
