First new beer after being out with an infection. 2010 vintage, $3.29 @ Binny’s. Brownish amber pour is the color as the bottle glass. Pours a big spongy head in my little goblet. Lightly tart smell, not overdone. Taste is a bit tart, but more likely it’s aged out and smoothed down. But a bright oaky palate takes its place. The middle of the pour increases some of the sourness, but there’s little fruit to it. I guess I’d call it sour yet dry. Alcohol is pretty light. So it’s a nice, sessionable sour beer. Nice for easing myself back into my rating routine.

This beer is tied with Monk’s for my favorite Flemish Ale to date. It features a lot of cherry aroma and flavor with a more subdued tartness and acidity.

Pours a medium hazy brown with a tan head. It has a nice, slightly funky aroma with some oak and dark fruit. The flavor is also slightly funky, with a semisweet malt backbone and a faintly tart finish.

Appearance - brown Aroma - nice fruity funk Mouth - high carb. Nice bite. Taste - has that sweet tart hit like a champagne. Not in your face tart or funk. Nice but a bit dry and light. Overall - very good but I like other sites much more. This is a bit light for me and borders on that champagne like mouth.

Bottle at Specialty Beer Cellar. Murky dark brown pour with reddish tints and an off white head. Sour vinegar bouquet. Sour berry skin and vinegar notes dominate. Some maltiness in the back. Average body and mouthfeel.

Slightly hazy, red brown. Small, creamy offwhite head. Aroma us vinous, acetic, some wood perhaps, but not sure. Flavour has malt, caramel and discrete spicyness. Good, acetic sourness. Rather dry, bitter sour finish.

New rubber, with currant and apple core highlights, tart. Clear rust colored, thick tan head. Low tartness, low character. Apple core is dominant. Subtle woodiness in the finish, but not really oaky. Really mild, light bodied, somewhat spritzy. Could be much better. To quote Elivs Costello, "Pump it Up!"

On tap at D’s Six Pax and Dogz near Pittsburgh. Pours opaque reddish brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of sour black cherries, some sweet malts, not much going on. A or follows with tart black cherries, sweet caramel malts, just a bit of sour. Medium plus palate with low medium carbonation. Not bad but there are better examples out there. I’d happily have it again though.
