First new beer after being out with an infection. 2010 vintage, $3.29 @ Binnyís. Brownish amber pour is the color as the bottle glass. Pours a big spongy head in my little goblet. Lightly tart smell, not overdone. Taste is a bit tart, but more likely itís aged out and smoothed down. But a bright oaky palate takes its place. The middle of the pour increases some of the sourness, but thereís little fruit to it. I guess Iíd call it sour yet dry. Alcohol is pretty light. So itís a nice, sessionable sour beer. Nice for easing myself back into my rating routine.

11.2 oz bottle pour. Pours a medium brownish color with a lasting foamy head. Incredible aroma of sour grape and cherries. Lighter oak like flavor with some sour fruit. Not quite as sour as the sour ales I love the most, but this is a solid beer. Slightly empty finish to it, but great flavor to this overall. Really enjoyed this beer. Solid.

This beer is pretty amazing. Normally I donít like sour beers as I find them too sour, but you can taste the wood from this, very nice!

Bottle, 75cl magnum. Pours a ruby red color that settles brown and dark red with a huge, stable, foamy beige head. Fruity, delightful aroma of mostly sour apples, ripe dark fruits, figs, apricots, grapes and cherries. Malty and yeasty nose as well. Flavour is even more fruity than the nose suggest. Light sweet at first of caramel malt and yeast, after which, more cherries, apples, (red) grapes and plums dominates the taste. Moderate sourness in a long, dry rather bitter finish. Light-medium bodied, average carbonation and a sticky, oily texture. Well balanced mixture of tartness, acidity and sweetness.

330ml bottle from St. Veronus. Deep red/black bodybwith huge tan head with great lacing. Very minimal sourness with an amazing light/medium body. Some funk on the nose with wood, cherry, raisin and fig. The most sessionable Flemish sour Iíve ever had.

330ml bottle served in a Duvelís tulip. A: Pours a beautiful dark amber clear color forming a huge aired tan head. Low retention and some lacings formed end left in the glass S: Smell is quite fruity and bit sour as a good Oud Bruin should be. Strong notes of dark fruits, mainly cherries and red grapes. Some wild yeasts can be felt too. A bit metallic in the end T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of sweet malts and dark fruits. Again, strong notes of cherries, plums and red grapes. A bit sour. Some metallic notes. Toffee, caramel malts, crystal malts. In overall, a fruity but not extremely sweet beer M: Medium body. Good carbonation. Light sour and fruity aftertaste O: Good drinkability. An Oud Bruin "for the masses", but still a nice beer [ BA Review @ 8/17/2013 ]

Dark ruby with a thick light tan head. Aroma of honey, apricot, and raisin. Malty, sweet and a bit tart. Taste is more berries than the nose lets on. Seems like it was aged in wine barrels. Medium bodied and watery.

Deep brown, minimal lacing head. Fruity aroma of mostly sour apples. Light to medium body. Slightly sour taste. A bit weird but worth of trying.
