250ml brown bottle. Poured golden, huge head with a dense centre and soapy edges. Aroma is sweet and floral, lemon notes, pears and trace alcohol. Fruity in the mouth, slight spice, alcohol is there but not overwhelming. Finishes with a good hoppy bite. Prickly carbonation, a tad too much, otherwise pleasant.

330ml bottle bought at Gorgeous Wine & Cigar in Yuen Long.

Clear blonde colour with a thin ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; Three-quarter finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with active small carbonation; Quite fragrant aroma of malt, with vanilla, light banana, cranberries, caramel, sugar, bread, strong Bel yeast, light lemon and light grass; Mid to strong sweet taste of Pils malt, with metallic, red fruit notes, light floral, strong sugar, spices, yeast, strong lime, fair strong bitter hops and grass; Medium body, thick and creamy palate; Mouth feel is good Pils maltyness in a very rich and smooth background. Mostly light red fruity ester with strong sugar sweetness but not quite cloying, though. Fairly spicy, moderate yeast with strong lime to round. Solid!... Hoppiness is light lemon and light grass in nose. Spices, strong lime and grassy in taste; Bitterness is fairly strong for a lasting, mid astringent sweet bitter finish; Slightly dry after taste. Sweet, creamy and quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: After the Dubbel Brune, this Tripel is perhaps the only other quality Petrus beer around. It’s back to basic without fanciful banana fruity elements, yet the sour berries aroma and strong limey hops are enchanting. Not a top dog, but it does the job well enough. Drinkable.

Poured from a bottle. Small head but some lacing, cloudy orange appearance. Sweet syrupy aroma, too much for the taste.

Bottle 33cl. @local Lidl supermarket. Poured into a tulip glass. Clear medium amber, tall foamy white head, light patchy lacing; very slow development of the aroma, malts, bread, biscuit, fruity, yeast; taste is medium sweet and bitter with a sourish fruity touch, malts dominate, yeast, with average duration, bittersweet finish, sourish fruit, spicy notes; creamy to oily texture, above average carbonation; enough complexity but nevertheless a bit dull and not the best example of the style.

Geen diepgang. Te zoet voor een blond, te waterig voor een tripel. Opvallende bitter/zure nasmaak. Een stevige dorstlesser, maar ook niet meer dan dat. Gaat na een paar slokken alleen maar vlakker smaken.
