Bottle @ home. Cloudy, yellow-brown appearance with a big head that features huge bubbles that dissipates quickly. Potent orange-pineapple-mango citrusy tartness, a touch bready, potent juicy nose. Very fruity, mango, tangerine, orange citrusy, fairly tangy, a touch sour, belgian yeasty flavor. One of the most fruity tripels I’ve had.

Pours golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, yeasty spice, citrus, and hops. Flavor is much the same with very lively carbonation.

Whole Foods, P St, DC 750 ($7): This was a super cheap tripel, so I didn’t pass it up. Pours a light gold color with a light head. Aroma is grainy, with some pepper and coriander; there is some fruitiness in there as well. So the beer has moderate astringency. Actually a good amount of hops. Rather spicy. Not that sweet, but has some candy sweetness towards the back. Not a great beer, but plenty drinkable. Perhaps a tad watery.

MMR (178) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 24, 2011
Pours a nice golden, bit thick, color with big white foam head. It’s aroma of hops, alcohol and honey is very noticeable. Palate is a rather bore.

The bottle says Gouden Tripel Ale but Rate beer says this version has a name change to Triple. Maybe I have an old bottle of the Tripel. The ale poured a very cloudy tarished gold. The head was frothy and laced down the glass. This refermented ale in bottle was sweet and the yeasty flavor are not inviting. The higher hops up to 45 IBU is a plus. This style of ale is one that I need to learn more about.

Chudwick (355) - Taylor Mill (KY), FRANCE - SEP 2, 2011
bottle in a pint glass - pours hazy faint orange with white foam. Aroma is yeast and roasty malt. Taste is sweet. Palate is oily. Finish is malt. For a triple this is pretty weak. It would be a good initiation triple.

Prokroustis (359) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - AUG 31, 2011
Golden fizzy body with a huge white head. Aroma is yeasty, spicy, sweet, with some orange. Lively palate, medium body. Nice dry spicy flavour. Decent, not really special though.
