UPDATED: AUG 2, 2006 Poured to a hazy golden color, with huge, white pillowy head that lingered through entire beer, and left excellent lacing. Fruity aroma, mostly apples, hit me as soon as I opened the bottle. Beer had the same fruity taste, and was very spicy to boot. Finish was sryupy and sour, but good. Although this was a different tasting beer, I really enjoyed it.

75cl bottle. This golden ale poured with a fluffy white head. The aroma is very pleasantly fruity and the flavor is yeasty with a spicy and slightly bitter finish. This is a well-balanced abbey ale that is quite satisfying.

Deep straw/light golden in color with a large three finger white head. Huge fruit and spice aroma and flavor. Palate is silky and very warming.

Called Petrus Gouden Tripel here: Aroma: peach and hop (very nice) Appearance:: yellow and hazy with a smallish white head that leaves sheet lacing. Flavour: big hop and fruitiness malt and spiritous. Palate: thin and leaves a nice bit of sharpness.

From a fresh bottle.

Pours a hazy straw yellow with a nice (if short-lived) white head; the haze comes from the carbonation rather than any sediment, and the beer clears relatively quickly. <!-- p --> The aroma catches me by surprise with a sour cut-grass aroma that reminds me more of a skunky pilsner than than abbey tripel. There are some belgian yeasts and hints of lemon as well.

The flavor is nice enough, a bit of confectionary sugar quickly yielding to gently citric hops and gentle spicy yeast flavors, leaving me with a dry finish. The mouthfeel is about what one would expect for a gentle 7.5% tripel, relatively quaffable with a hint of alcohol late in the palate.

I’m happy enough drinking this beer, but I’m not overly impressed by it. There are plenty of better tripels out there. Still, I’m with muzzlehatch in feeling that the whole is more than the sum of the parts.

Beer is clear, pale yellow-gold color with a huge, frothy, white, mostly and rapidly diminishing head. The aroma is interesting: Malty with light notes of toasted grain, cookie; Hoppy with moderate-to-heavy herb, moderate lemon zest; Yeasty with moderate horseblanket and barnyard, light dough. Light note of brunchwager and a trace of sharp cheddar in the nose before the head diminished; moderate apple, alcohol and a light woodiness also appearent among the miscellaney. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic with an average-length, lightly bittersweet, moderately warm finish. Interesting retronasal burst of aspen bark immediately proceeding the swallow. The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2009 Clear yellow body with a big and long lasting frothy white head. Aroma is weak, citrusy and pale malt. Taste is yeasty, lightly citrusy, some tropical fruits, sweet candies, more hoppy than most triples. Dry finish with light bitterness. Overall this is an average beer but I like the style. When it comes to belgian blonde tripels I’m as forgiving as Jesus on the cross.

Hazy gold. Large, dense, sponge of a white head. Nose of dust, white pepper, past ripe light fruits, dough, alcohol, grains, and sweetness. Same flavors flow nicely, like a mild tripel. Clean, dry finish. Medium/full, balanced palate. Good brew.
