Nice tangy, sour aroma and taste to this winter beer. Not much of a head to speak of, caramel/copper color with faint carbonation. Sour palate, taste of caramel and toffee. No alcohol burn apparent. A real winter warmer.

750ml bottle. Pours a pretty huge creamy, frothy tan head that dissipates to a thin coating. Has a fairly clear, dark amber appearance. Average carbonation. Aromas of roasted malts, dried fruits, and toffee. Flavours are mainly malts, light roasted malt, yeast, raisins. Alcohol is well hidden, well balanced bitterness and sweetness. Good retention. Slight warming sensaion. Perfect winter beer.

Deep amber-brown pour with a thick white head. The nose is quite spicy and a little bit fruity. Sweet cooked malt, toasted dates and plums with a bit of caramel. Dark fruit and a touch of rum as well. The spicing is notable yet well integrated. Cinnamon and nutmeg with some nice rich malt flavours to round it out. Lovely really.

Pours dark brown with a small white ring. Aroma is light raisin, sweet malts, light plum and spice. Taste is much the same. A little thin on body and a little low on carbonation. The spice is really strong in the aftertaste.

2016/01/02 - Pours a clear, dark amber colour with a frothy, khaki coloured head that quickly reduces and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is brown sugar, dried dark fruits, toffee, yeast, gingerbread and spices (cinnamon and nutmeg). Has many similar aroma notes as a pumpkin ale. Taste follows nose; brown sugar, yeast, toffee, gingerbread, cinnamon, nutmeg and some light notes of dark fruit. Mouthfeel is medium and slick with prickly carbonation and a long, drying, mildly warming finish. This was better than I had expected. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nose features fermented fruit, brown sugar, spice and plums. The taste is classic big Belgian ale - brown sugar, candied fruit, dates, yeast, spices such as cloves and cinnamon, and prunes. A soft fluffy effervescence and a dense rich body add to a typically well balanced taste experience.

Nice colour and nice taste. I get a lot of caramel and dark fruits in the aroma and taste. Solid drink.

Rose, red, clear, crisp filtered colour with a sparse off white foam head. Lots of Christmas aromas, fruit cake, dried fruits, and gingerbread. Sweet malty rum flavour upfront. It Lingers a bit on the tongue with a subtle very subtle bitter hop note. Light tasting considering it a high gravity ale at 9% by volume.
