Caramel Red-fermenting beer. This child of the Peter Family Christmas is only brewed in November. Its mild flavor is the perfect starting point for pleasant holidays.

Bottle. Pours a deep mahogany color with a frothy tan head. Mostly malty aromas. Full body with big mouthfeel. Big malty sweet flavor flavor balance. Mellow raisiny notes. Late alcohol character. Very clean and smooth. A nice big Belgian ale without overpowering Belgian yeast character. Very nice.

Een van de beste winterbieren dat ik ooit al geprobeerd heb. Een bier met veel smaak aan zoals het hoort.

This is a very nice winter beer. Really, a dessert beer, as this tastes overwhelmingly like banana bread. If you can embrace this, this is the beer for you. Vaughn brought this one to the winter beer tasting in Dec. 2012.

Pours a beautiful deep ruby with no head or lacing. The taste is mildly sweet. Flavors of sweet malt, spice, bread, candied fruit, and perhaps hints of citrus. Dry finish and hardly any aftertaste. Medium-light body and soft carbonation.

dark amber to mahogany colour, moderate sized creamy beige-ish head; aroma of Christmas gingerbread, clove, hints of cinnamon and caramel; taste is the same with apple notes;alcohol is fully hidden; very heavy ale, perfect choice for a Christmas Eve menu

Comes out of tap clear mahogany with a thick, fine-bubbled, and very persistent cream-buff head that leaves very generous lacing. Aroma has malty core and sharp fruit overtone with a hint of clove. Bold flavor has notes of malt, apple, pear, cloves, and caramel, with a sharp alcohol bite. Texture is smooth and fizzy, if not too firm. Welcome winter - brews.

From 75cl into Lagunitas. Cold recently in Belgium so this seemed like a good choice to bring up from the cellar. Attractive bottle with the red cover. Pours a red-brown with an average head. Smell is brown sugar edging into raisin and a feint of cinnamon. A bit on the sweet side but the alcohol is completely hidden. Actually a really good beer - nice for sipping in the cold!

This is pretty good. Mildly complex, very clean and well balanced flavors of spices and fruits. Pleasent sweetness. It finishes well, nothing off flavored. For me it is very enjoyable. Make sure to get it again next year.

Dark amber colour, fluffy off-white head. Spicy aroma, caramel, quite fruity. Flavour light sweet, quite earthy, malts, dried fruits, caramel. Bitter and sweet earthy finish, reminding of barley wine. Nice!

750 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but I believe this was from Winter 2011. Pours fairly crystal clear reddish copper color with a nice 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings to the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big apple skin, clove, pear, caramel, cinnamon, allspice, toast, gingerbread, nutmeg, and light earth. Pretty nice aromas with decent balance; the apple skins overpower most of the aromas. Taste of caramel, apple, toast, gingerbread, pear, cinnamon, clove, allspice, toast, nutmeg, brown sugar, and herbal earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruit, toast, caramel, gingerbread, cinnamon, clove, allspice, nutmeg, brown sugar, and herbal on the finish for a good bit. Great flavor balance with good complexity; nice malt/spice balance; zero cloying flavors on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a fairly slick, creamy, and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice seasonal Belgian ale! Nice flavor balance and complexity; very smooth and crisp to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.
