3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: clear brilliant garnets and ambers. Head fades fast into a collar bordering a broken thin film of foam. Swirls puffy along the sides.
Nose: caramel apples with spice Ė ginger, cumin and pumpkin intermingle. Fresh cut apples and pears. Crunch of fresh toast in the back. Plums and grapes. Gingerbread.
Palate: sweet, silky, and slightly frothy. Gingerbread, raisin bread, plum bread. Slight tannins in the back. Grapes and plums. Pulped pumpkin in the middle. Plump raisins. Last but not least are cumin, ginger, and leather.
Final Thoughts: intriguing and definitely good. But! I still love the sour Petrus beers best because once a sour-head always a sour-head.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   Deep coppery amber, strong carbonation, moderate to large spritzy off-white head, spotty lacing.
Soft spicy nose, seems like some all-spice and nutmeg.   Also getting a strong Gingerbread cookie aroma.
Combination Gingerbread, dark pitted fruit, nutmeg, and all-spice on the tongue.   Falls off quicker than I expected, and
its not as malty as I would have thought.   The 9% ABV is there, but only warming.   Has a bit of Honeycomb cereal
like presence towards the backside.   This is not your usual heavy dark pitted fruit Belgian Strong, instead its more
Gingerbread oriented with a some spices.   Everything falls off somewhat quickly.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.
Its not all that heavy either.   Fairly clean finish, a little mealy but thankfully not in the American sense.
Lingering spices, nutmeg, all-spice, and Gingerbread cookies.   Decent offering, but could use more body and

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark copper on tap with fluffy tan head and webby lace on the way down. Aroma of Belgian yeast and that typical Christmas beer spice. Taste is far more Belgian than the nose, slices well balanced. I can see this being good when itís cold, but itís just blah on mid April.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml caged and corked bottle. Served in a Unibroue tulip, the beer pours a clear reddish/orange color with about an inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is sweet and spicy, it smells like cinnamon, candied fruit, nutmeg, brown sugar, bready malt and cloves. The brew tastes like cinnamon, nutmeg, dark fruit, nuts, cloves and bready malt. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a little bit coating and is also well carbonated. I think this is more of a winter warmer than a Belgian Strong Dark Ale, but itís still a good brew. $8.99 a bottle.
