COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Caramel-red beer of high fermentation. This Christmas child of the Petrus family is only brewed throughout the month of November. Its soft aroma is the perfect start for cosy holiday season.

bottle: pours a dirty caramel brown with a good sized tan head, small lacing. aroma is slight sour with a small amount of funk, good sweetness in the malt and a slight spice. flavou r is excellent with a touch of sour and good caramel malt, slight spice that evens it out nicely.

33cl bottle from Knightly Spirits (Orlando, FL). Pours a hazy walnut brown with a massive thick and creamy off-white head. Excellent retention and ample lacing. Aroma is dark malt, molasses, dark chocolate, toffee, nuts. Flavor is very sweet and malty with notes of dark ripe fruit, molasses, chocolate, and cider notes. Medium body with a sweet malty finish. Nice winter ale.

Can’t really say why, but something about the bubblegum, sweet malts, and spices really make this my favorite of the Petrus lineup. Yeasty and raisiny as well. Its like candy! Good stuff when you can get it!

I’ve had this beer a couple of times. Be careful about half of them have had questionable quality. Pours a murky amber with a frothy light brown head. Musty, tart raisin, cinnamon aroma. Fairly thin, watery body with a full, frothy carbonation. A muddy caramel malt and chocolate flavor, with a bitter orange peel finish. Mediocre flavors and poorly made.

Bottle, bought @ Dagli’ Brugsen, Nordborg.
Pours brown amber with a giant head. It’s creamy on the top with large bubbles nearer the liquid. Aroma has lots of raisins, light fruity tartness, very spicy, some liqourice. Medium creaminess, light carbonation with small bubbles. Perhaps it’s slightly thin. Flavour is sweet, light chocolate, good Christmas spiciness. Light raisin.

From a small bottle purchased at By The Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Poured a orange-amber body with a thick fizzy white head. Over aged and over carbonated perhaps. Citrus, caramel, grainy and mildly sour. This beer needed less time in the cellar and more time off the back of my tongue.

11.2 oz bottle...pours an amber color w/ a two finger, fizzy off-white head. It has a caramel and toasted malt nose, mixed with some bready yeast. The flavor citrus mixed with some grains, and some spicing. I was disappointed that the malt in the nose didn’t come through in the flavor. There is a sourness on the front palate from the citrus that lingers for a bit before you get a sense of some alcohol on the back palate. Very average Belgian Ale...

This started out nice, I really enjoyed what the nose had to offer with some lighter fruit notes and some lemony acidity I have come to know from Petrus. The flavor is thrown off though, slightly sour, but really high in acidity, a little higher in the carbonation levels, and then the spices hit your toungue, and it makes for a really tough mouthfeel, not very enjoyable.
